Unions will be the demise of many jobs in the next decade or so. While the unions had their purpose in the past they have not evolved. Instead they have become more mafia and a shield for those that need to be gone.

But hey, if you are too much of a beta cuck to negotiate your own self worth then by all means hide behind your rep.

I'm really curious about the economics behind Unions vs not.

Is union labor really inflating the cost of production for GM, or is it simply too expensive regardless of Union labor to produce here?
I read a report this morning claiming that the average hourly for unionized GM labor is $63) and the average hourly for Honda, Nissan, and Toyota labor is $50. That's why temporary labor is such a sticking point in this strike. The UAW is eating itself and needs to go IMO.

The effing UAW is bitching about their membership paying a whopping 3% of their healthcare costs.

GTFO with that shit

Grasping to an outdated model and misguided philosophy, will 100% ensure their destruction in the long term. If the technology to build a car soup to nuts unmanned was readily available, the car makers would do it in a second. That day will come

And they think they represent the American worker lol. They're so out of touch with the average American worker, now, it's laughable.

It takes some balls to make the kinds of demands they do when their jobs can be done by most anyone.

My grandfather retired as a tool and die operator at the Toledo GM Powertrain plant and was pro union while always teaching us there would likely be a time when UAW would lose control and that ego needs to be checked when negotiating contracts that can mean so much to a community outside the bounds of the plant.

Skilled labor jobs don't need unions anymore. the internet has made so many of these old institutions obsolete. unions, post office, hell even the EPA all because we have instant live access into what is happening ANYWHERE on the planet which allows us to hold people accountable.

unions are dinosaurs. you don't see software engineers in unions because it would only cost money and kill jobs.
