Hello All - My check engine light just came on. It's reads P050B "Cold start ignition timing performance". The car runs perfect - so I'm kind of baffled. Has anybody seen this? If so...what did you do about it?
Thanks in advance.

I can only post what's in the service manual. I have no experience with the code.

Thanks...interesting read. Not certain how any of the above could have happened - or if it has.

Tuned in May...has a FRPP CJ throttle body installed in 2014. Seems to run better than ever - I'm going to try an ECU reset this weekend. If that doesn't turn off the light, I'll bring it into my local Ford dealer to it off.

If you're just now getting into cooler temps since it was tuned, perhaps that's what's going on. You have a parameter that may need to be changed for cold start in cooler weather. Many of the spark settings for start up are based on ECT.

You know you can turn the fault code off with your flash tool? If not, you can. That doesn't mean it won't trigger again. But that would give you the opportunity to narrow what temperature your ECTs are before the code comes back.

I did not know that. I have an older SCT4 tuner bought in 2014...I'll give it a shot. Thanks

If you don't see it, you might do a firmware update. I assume it's always been there, but I didn't upgrade to the X4 for my Shelby until after I had bought one for my 2015 F-150. It was used and I did the firmware update prior to using it.

Happens to me off and on when the weather gets cooler right after the JLT cold air and tune. Never happens in the summer. I just bought a wifi OBDII reader and use my phone to turn off the DTC lamp.
