I have been using the Nighthawk X8 for 4 years and its been blistering fast. I added a matching mesh extender to for great coverage throughout the house and patio.

Benn getting consisting 140mbps anywhere in and around the house. I have the tri band as well, but merged the two 5ghz together.

Very happy!

I have phones/iPad on one 5ghz, Roku is on the 2.4 and I’ll dedicate the other 5 to my laptop.

Lol.
This is honestly plenty for now. Wish we had fiber here. Comcast is basically the only option. I am due for a upgrade since my 2 year deal expired, so I may see what they have to offer speed wise.
How do you like Comcast?
I've had Verizon FIOS for years. There are some quirks with it, once in a while. (But, that may happen to the others as well, I'm guessing.) Overall, it's not that bad, except when you're trying to renew your contract. They try raising the prices EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. I tell them, NO! I've been with you for so many years, do you really want to lose me as a customer to your competitor? I always win. lol

Same deal Tony. Really the only game here unless you want a dish, and that’s a no here with the weather. Really never had issues, except the price. I really need to get off my ass and renew my shit with them. Two year deal runs out, and up goes the price. Been with them 23 years in this house.

For any kind of range and good speed hard to beat a mesh network. Ubiquiti and Orbi are ones I prefer for residential. Erro is not bad however the nodes do not cover as far. A little more range then Google though.

Yeah, it's the same bullcrap every 2 years. I hate doing it.
No DISH for me either. Not as reliable. Not so many DISH owners up here.

My ol R7000 still kicking butt.
One of the best routers ever made imho. Up there with the Linksys/Cisco WRT54G
I pay for 300 mb, get another 50 or so.
I could get gigabit for a few more bucks but it's overkill even with my own server, as it's just one person using it.
And ontop I get 80-125mb over LTE on band 71 (unlimited tether, not throttled).

Screenshot from my phone. Have an orbi wifi "booster" on top of the router. *edit* (router = Motorola cable modem + n300 router)

My phone's wifi speeds are faster than my laptop wired up to the net (189.19down 11.5 up). I'm wondering if my lap top is being limited by the NIC

A desktop pc in the house gets 221down 11.99up

PS comcast is shit. Internet goes out at least once a day, anywhere from 5min to an hour at a time. Can't wait for CenturyLink to get fiber to the house

I would love fiber, nothing in site that I can see here. Be nice to have some competition.

I have a whooping 25 and 5......pay 80 bucks a month for it.

Ahhhhhh, country life! Oh well id rather have slow internet instead of neighbors!

we can only get dialup at our other place in NC so you're killing it. I gotta ride my four wheeler to the top of the hill to get enough signal to do anything

same, choices up here are awful. Im gonna drop down to 100, then I can get internet and streaming for $100 instead of just internet. I don't think the difference between 100 and 200 will matter at this point. I added a Netgear mesh extender via ethernet I'd run previously and its great. I get roughly the same download speeds anywhere in the house. I didnt want to try and mix and match brands and make them play nice together
