Did y’all use weights, or just spin the distributor? You could get some serious rattle doing that.

I remember marking them and dropping them in. I think we just spun it a hair to fit. Been a long time since Ive looked at them old boys.

not at my post...
I never messed with springs and weights that much, just stock spring with heavier weight for quicker advance. I’d set/advance timing at idle a few degrees..take for some WOT blast and back off a little if I heard pinging.

my old man did the tuning and building. I just got to play like I actually accomplished something. He could hear pinging from a mile away and I never heard jack.

Serious. Haven’t been keeping track... Just seems like the GT500 is never going to be a reality.

Double post. Sorry. Phone is tripping.

My money is on the c8 by a long shot. Gt500 build dates keep getting pushed to the right, meanwhile the c8 is all over and already has performance numbers out.

That’s comical and sad at the same damn time.

You’re not joking.

I feel like a broken record on this forum saying this but I’ve been a diehard ford guy forever, out of all the vehicles I’ve owned only 2 have been non ford.

BUT

Ford ****ing sucks right now. All the excuses people said about the gt500 will be heavy because this reason and that reason and the price will go up because of it blah blah blah blah blah

GM drops a MID ENGINE performance vehicle under 3500 lbs running BOTTOM 11s and WILL handle good, all this for like 60k BASE MODEL.

Meanwhile ford has their thumb in their ass clueless about what their diehard customers want.

Bingo. We’ve been hearing about this GT500 for years now, yet somehow GM is going to have a brand new platform mid engine vette in full production and in owners hands before what is essentially a upgraded V6 mustang.

GT500?
Does anybody even care about the new GT500?

Neither Ford or FCA has anything on GM at this stage.
Imagine what they'll do with the rest. The Camaro, the Cadillac CTS-V etc. They'll likely all get some treatments, not mid engine perhaps but other stuff.
It's not like it's gonna end with just the Corvette.

This car isn't only just absolutely crazy performance for the money.
It's also really good looking and looks like a good driver with a good interior (apart from the steering wheel.....)

Once the 500 drops, GM will announce an LT5 powered Camaro to 1 up it. They still owe Ford for when they got **** slapped on the release of the 13 GT500 after they released the Gen 5 ZL1. Oh that’s cute, you built a Camaro to run a few tenths faster than our 12 model. How does this BBC taste?

The only way I won't buy one of these is, 1. I can't sit in it with out bending my neck and leaning to the side like I do in the C7 vert. 2. The seats are those God awful hard bolsters made for small framed guys like Recaros. 3. The economy crashes.

GT500?

No, only the diehard care. The GT500 is irrelevant, 3 years to late and underwhelming. I can't tell if it's like the 94-95 Cobra or the 99-01 Cobra. All nice cars but outclassed by the competition. The difference being the 94-95 & 99-01 weren't astronomically priced.

After experiencing the engineering nightmare that is the CTS-V I'd be hesitant to purchase another GM product ever again. Nice numbers though
