Quick back story -
Built to run 1/2 mile events.
2 years ago, stock steel crank had enough when the car was pushing over 1500rwhp and moved around causing it to lose 2 rods at over 180mph in Indy at a 1/2 mile event.
The resulting oil loss outta the block caused a slight fire and burned the fenders, side skirts and rear bumper slightly.
We built a new engine, repainted the fenders and bumper and replaced the side skirts.
Took it out testing at a local 1/4 mile track and with the 2.73 gears still installed it went 8.70 @ 170mph on the first hit running the entire 1/8th mile in 1st gear.

8.70 @ 170 through 2.73s is awesome.
I believe turbo cars like the tall gearing, I've seen some results of guys going to taller gears on turbo cars and them really waking up.

Wow! That thing moved out and that is with 2.73s! It will be insane in the half mile events!

Yes it's a powerglide behind a 5.4 engine. For drag racing he might switch to something like a 3.50 gear but he's planning to go back to 1/2 mile events soon.

Wow, so it must do around 145+ or so at the top of 1st gear at the 1/8....thats nuts.

Took the car to Galot Motorsports Park in Benson, NC this past Saturday.
Ran in Top Street in a field of 16 cars and made it to the final 4 before the race was cancelled due to rain.
Still working out some bugs but went 131mph in the 1/8th so far not turnt up yet.

I love this car.
