the 03/04 cobra ecu's are capable of doing a 'ghost cam' using timing and cylinder cut its not the same tone as a coyote with the valves hung open but it screws up idle pretty good. If left like that for too long though your exhaust will begin to glow from timing being heavily retarded. It is not recommended and for the price not worth it IMO.

There was some guys back in the day that had injector #6 on the supercoupes hooked up to a switch they could turn off at idle to make those 6 bangers lope. Many loved it and many hated it. -Same principle.

The coyote ecu's can be set to do ghost cam at warm stable idle at closed throttle only. If you have any drive-ability issues its because your tuner didn't do it correctly. I don't do them cuz its useless but back in the day when playing around I didn't have any drive-ability issues the car ran absolutely stock other than the screwed up idle.

What about setting points?

Yep, and re-jetting carbs.

LMAO!!! You guys are really showing your age. I have not seen points since 1989. However, my 65 was set up on a carb, so I was recently exposed to re-jetting and the single coil/distributor settings.

On the reverse, I was talking to my Dad the other day and asked him if he knew what coil packs were. He said nope LMAO!!!!

Different generations and different technology...……..

Is a ghost cam the same theory as putting a balloon or playing card to run against the spokes on your bike??????? Now there is a blast from the past for you....ROFLMAO!!!

Hey now. My first two cars had points and I started driving in the mid 90's. One of the best things I did was get rid of them.

A few years ago one of my grandfathers friends had a kid go through one of those tech schools. After he graduated the other grandfather was all proud and said "let's go adjust the points on my hot rod ". The kid had no idea what they were and my grandfather and his friend were blown away it wasn't taught in the tech school. I had to point out that they haven't used points in a few decades so it's no longer needed. They just shook their heads at me.

Ah, the memories. LOL. Back in the day, I spent countless hours working on distributors (Mallory, Accel), adjusting (and re-adjusting) points (single and dual), re-jetting Holley carbs, re-building carbs, float adjustments, using a timing light to set timing, etc. Honestly don't miss it at all.

Same here. I've even looked into switching my boat to EFI.

I remember guys wanting to add fake bovs to non turbo cars back in the day.

Sorry, that’s what I meant. I don’t find any attraction to this type of stuff. Get the real deal or don’t bother.

Pick your poison.
