Forget a coyote or terminator swap in a fox. The only aftermarket progress you can make on them are to add boost. You’re not doing a h/c/I on them, you’re not changing the compression etc. All that you’re doing is; buy engine, add boost. It’s ****ing boring if you ask me.

If you have money burning a hole in your pocket, you need a ohv engine.

408 and with EFI here $7400 425hp

Or if you have a few extra dollars, how about a 427 small block? 535hp and 11k

both of these options would be much cheaper tha a boosted coyote and be way cooler, imo.

I had a 347 and a 408 stroker both efi 15+ years ago. I'm not looking for crazy hp right away. I'd be content with a bolt on coyote for reliability that I can drive anywhere.

Hard to beat the sound of a pushrod motor. I thought about a budget 331 if I can't swing a coyote for awhile.

A bolt on coyote could be fun, just look at the coyote stock class.
To me, the cost vs ROI for a coyote just isn’t there because all you will end up with is almost a bone stock coyote with a centri
Blower and then probably a turbo. ****ing. Boring.

I think I have mentioned to you that had I not already started a conversation about the silver car I would have not sold the blue one. That blue car sounds perfect to me. It might not have the power that a Coyote motor does and over time will leak a little oil but when you realize that it is part of the era that the car comes from you start to look over it. The silver car needs the Coyote motor to complete the concept of the car, the blue one doesn't. It would be a shame to put all that time and money into something only to regret it.
Not trying to talk you out of doing it, just want to give you my experience having had both.

Scott I agree with you. I truly love the sound of this car. Whatever happens won't be for quite some time. I have a mechanic friend that built my old 347 years ago. I keep thinking of just having him build a budget 331 one day if something happens to this 306.

I only managed about 250 miles on the car this year. I put it away yesterday for winter colder days are here.

She looks nice for a winter slumber.
Funny, we are just starting to drive our cars down here. The temps have just now gotten below the 90s. I remember when I bought my 67 Chevy II, the guy thought it funny that I was washing it when I got it home. We left him in the snow at zero and it was in the upper 60s when we got home.

I wish I had more time to enjoy the cars. Next week it's showing some days with highs only hitting 40. I still have yard work to do....

I like the A10/Gen 3 Coyote swap idea. As mentioned, simple bolt ons/tuning and you have yourself quite a machine. There's a company that's working on a transmission controller too for swaps just like this. Good luck man! Beautiful Notch!

Keep it simple, a power adder isn't required. 500hp and stock drivability in a Fox body is a recipe for fun.

But a VMP thus making 650ish is still 99% problem free. That's like tossing a Vortech S-Trim on a stock 93 cobra. People did that back in the day and drove them problem free for thousands of miles.

I seen this thread on the side Coyote swap and I want to do an engine swap in my 2008 Shelby GT/SC. I am NO fan of the 4.6 even if supercharged but when I had my first drive of a Coyote with 6r80 in a 2013 it felt much stronger than 460hp and I got hammered by my fellow 07/08 Shelby GT owners when I said the 5.0 Coyote w/ the 6r80 felt way more powerful than my 4.6 w/ Kenne Bell and the 5spd automatic. My 2008 Shelby GT/SC is my favorite Mustang I own and I want to swap in the 5.2 crate engine w/ a Whipple and 6r80 and looking for shops who can actually do this swap so I can get a few quotes

Coyote no doubt.
I see no reason for Terminator swapping as it would be roughly same money and work (maybe even more with termi swap?) for less power and older technology.

I read someone’s comment somewhere that the throttle response was different between a coyote engine and the sn-95/new edge engines. SN-95 throttle was more raw and cable driven and the coyote was drive by wire and more refined.

Is that true?

Im in process of a built Coyote with a 3.6L Kenne Bell with their 10 rib drive set up. Engine will be Darton sleeved and a 5.2 when done. Heavily ported boss heads with MMR Valve Train. Manly Rods and Diamond Pistons. And cause I like to party a Liberty built T56 Magnum. Will be a full interior street car with heat and AC. All power functions will still work as well (power steering and brakes). Will be caged and certified for 8.50's. Its been a fun swap. I am using a ford racing control pack and still using the VCTs with cobra jet cams.

I'd really like to follow this. I'd definitely go the Ford Racing control pack as well.

I’d go coyote swap and a blower later on if you feel like you need more power. I’ve seen 500rwhp from na coyotes with no effort.

If you have an Instagram my name is 91gt_darkhorse. Its dedicated just to the build. I have been at it 10 months now. It's slow just cause of the money aspect but I'm not short cutting it at all. I thought about doing a build thread on here just haven't gotten around to it yet.
