I just finished installing my calipers with lowrangers kit. Per lowranger instruction sheet it needs a bit of filing to ensure the caliper bolt has a straight shot to the insert.

It was relatively painless. I do need to bleed my MC as I have a bit of soft pedal. other than that I can’t wait to see what the brakes can do.

Looks great! Don't forget the MC has side ports to bleed also.

Thanks. I just bled the MC. I still have some sponginess. I’m going to see if I can cycle the Abs and bleed again.

brakes feel much better but I want to get every last bit of air out.

The brakes on the GM cars mount much more vertically than brakes do on the SN95.

When I put the C6 calipers on my car, I found the only way to effectively bleed them was to loosen one bolt and pivot the Caliper to orient the bleeders vertically. Before I did that,I couldn’t get rid of a soft pedal.

Unsure of the internal plumbing of the brembo creates a dead zone unable to flush air out of on the ATS/XTS calipers

Btw, for the guys installing the XTS stuff...would love more details on how that’s working

Thanks MustangML5. I really went to town with my mityvac and pulled at least one pint per caliper. The MC never went dry. I’ll try to cycle the ABS and if not try loosening the caliper per you suggestion.

Update. Bled the MC again. What I did this time was ran two lines from the bleeders back to the MC reservoir. Cracked them both open and had my helper slowly pump brakes. Holy crap! A ton of bubbles came out! Kept on pumping until it was all fluid and made an extra 5 pumps. Brakes are good now.

Nice. What modifications did you have to make?

Same as with the ats I got off set bushings instead of drilling my spindle, its looking like milling the caliper will be the best for the xts, because my passenger side needed more off than the drivers side

I'd also like to hear more from @pyro1998 about getting the xts calipers mounted!
Its looking like the same way as ats, I used off set bushings instead of drilling my spindle, and I am suggesting anyone doing this to check the dimensions for milling the calipers, my passenger side needed more than the driver side

How much milling of the caliper?

Do you have pictures of what you did?

I ran into the same issue when I did mine. The gt500 rotor doesn’t leave much space so you need to be precise. I’d imagine there are some tolerance variations on the sn95 spindles

I think I went to 0.070” on one Caliper and it fit fine. But I think this number will be custom to each spindle. Definitely take off less and then adjust based on fit.

I started with .0565 but botg needed more and I lost track of the final milling thats why I'm suggesting doing the measuring each time because one was more than the other. I'll get some pictures up soon. I am also using 03 cobra 18 inch wheels
