Another example, Ford GT. Everyone hates the V6 version yet its the most ridiculous car produced in terms of performance its astounding. Nope, people still hate it. Literally a carbon fiber race car for the street and everyone shits on it cause it doesnt have a V8. It decimates the GT40 and GT on a race track but its not worthy.

Good point. Another example of a good idea that Ford managed to F right up. Who puts a V6 into a supercar? Why would Ford only sell these cars to famous people? Why is Ford building a 400k car? Terrible decisions lead to a terrible product. This Taurus S.H.E is a great example of this.

DOA my friends.

55 years to build up the most Iconic automotive name on the planet, and 1 day to destroy it.
Pathetic!!!!!!

So what are we looking at for a "base" AWD version, $46K ish?? Even if you knock off 7500$,
I'd still take this for the same performance and no issues of range or not being able
to charge at all in certain places. IE, stayed at parents house for several days
with dad in the hospital recently (and still had to drive round trip to work each day @ 110 miles),
had to park 4 houses down on other side of street, how the eff are you going to charge a car in that
situation. Hit up the neighbors?

And when I called my insr about a model 3 not that long ago, it was going to go up $500 a year.
So much for that gas savings. And what modern new IC car needs $300 maint a year? Even if you use synthetic oil,
it's $70 a year for 2 oil changes. How much does that high amperage charger cost to get installed and an
extension cord if you can't park in the exact same spot every night (hope it doesn't snow on top of that cord and then
you have to figure out how to plow through it, LOL!!!.

Jaguar XJ220 and the upcoming super exotic mid engine Aston Martin Vanquish come to mind. If a GTR can make 3000hp out of its V6 I think that sort of destroys the argument of a V6 being too inferior for road use in a supercar.

Id rather shoot a wet fart wearing white pants than be happy about the masacre Ford did to the mustang name with this shit. What pussy of a company. That reveal was the biggest embarrassment in automotive history.

And all would have been peeeerfectly fine if they stuck with their original plan.

You must be joking to be that ignorant? The SHO wasnt projected to sell a million units. It did exactly what it was supposed to do. Be a performance model that stays under the radar. Just like the original. They sold just as many as they needed.

And the Ecoboost GT is astonishing. You must be living under a rock. The thing has gotten praise from every single person who has spent time in one. Its an absolute rocket of a car and for $400,000 it is a bargain of a supercar which rivals and beats cars double its price. It was so good that they reopened the order banks to produce more. So how did they **** that up? Just because it didnt have a V8?

Im sorry you feel this bad about Ford and the Mustang Mach-E. If you dont like it. Dont buy it? I dont like the name either. I wont buy one also. I do see why they produced it and why its going to sell like crazy though and i do look forward to the day where they make a hot hatch with monster electric power. Ill bite at that point.

Not everyone hates it. At least three or four times during the reveal my wife gave me the, "Shhhh....I want to hear this!" At the end she looked at the kids and my mom who were all over for Sunday dinner and announced that she wanted me to get one of these.

She hit me with a huge sales pitch, saying we could get rid of my winter car and the 'dog car' and use this for both. She was positively giddy at the idea. Our garage only holds three so the dog car sits in the driveway all year. She hates getting into it in the winter. She kinda has a point there....

I'm relying on using the old, "You never buy a car in its first model year" line and maybe she'll forget after awhile. The thing is, I hate to disappoint her so if she sticks with it I may not have much choice.

Pretty much all of this^

the reality is the majority of people that bitch about the FGT not having a V8 can’t afford one anyway so it’s a moot point. The car is spectacular, and yes they could have achieved the same performance with a V8 but it was to help showcase their investment of the ecoboost platform in their line up and made sense while still delivering the numbers of a super car.

as far as the electric car, we’ll for most in here it obviously does not fit their lifestyle wants. There is however a large market for them and Ford is smart to get onboard. To the purists, the name is blasphemy, but to the average buyer it’s going to be catchy and draw attention thanks to the coat tails of mustang success.

someone above mentioned the scenario where electric cars aren’t feasible where parking is limited. Sure currently that would be a no go, but the target audience for electric cars generally has a garage spot to park daily, and has access to local charges so for them it is a viable option. 500 bucks more for insurance was mentioned per year as well, that sounds lofty but eh for example that two months fuel for my commute in my ram so it would quickly be a wash. Again these are going to be viable options to many people already and only will grow as the tech advances

I’ll wait till I see one in person to pass judgement on the looks.

I wish they had just called it the MACH E, and dropped the mustang name and badging.

Porsche took the 911, stretched it upward a little and gave it more ground clearance. The Macan is their biggest selling model now year after year. Can you blame Ford for thinking they were missing out?

Someone post a clip from Ford vs. Ferrari where The “Duece” tells plant workers to bring him an idea or walk home.

Ford Flex allover again.... saving the company's future.....wow 43 min of a 50 min video telling how great the mustang has been and 7 min of destroying it...
This!!

I thought I was watching an Apple launch presentation. I almost vomited listening to the disheveled hype about the glorious history of the MUSTANG PONYCAR only to see the B.S. push a crossover vehicle badged as a Mustang. I've pounded Ford in past posts so I won't go overboard, except to say that badging this all-electric vehicle as a Mustang is sacrilege. Ford F'd up big time IMO. Nuff said! I quit!
