Thanks in advance for taking a second....
Have a quick question about a screwed up order a coworker had for a 2020 Super Duty.

Few months back he used his x-plan to order a Velocity Blue 2020 F250 XLT. When he left, he took the white form that lists all the options ordered (Cant remember what this form is called)

Hadn’t heard anything for awhile so he got in touch with the dealership, then Ford to check on his build status, and was referred back to his dealership again.

Long story short, the dealership ordered and received a ‘19. The sales manager said, “Oh, I thought you wanted a 2019. Don’t worry, we can order you a 2020 on Wednesday.”

So aside from incompetence, who or what is at fault? Is there some hidden incentive to try and sell a 2019 instead of a 2020? And since he used x-plan for this order, will he have any issues ordering a 2020 through a different dealership after this fiasco?

What are your thoughts on current model year trucks with 30,000 miles on them? The carfax shows it to be individual owned and not a rental. I can't imagine driving that much in such a short amount of time.

Sorry, I just saw this!

Dealership screwed up. But the consumer isn't out anything besides just waiting on a correct one to come in.

Happens a lot. Usually a 1 year lease.

Probably a work vehicle allowance was used.

Potentially stupid question that I think I already know the answer to:

Will dealers ever honor another’s special?

Right now, most dealers have the 2019 F150s marked down. If I found a truck at one dealer that is marked down by $10k, is there any way in hell I could buy that truck, for that price, from another dealer?

Possibly. But doubtful. If Dealer A has it marked to a price, it's likely that Dealer B can't get that low, because Dealer A still has the manufacturer's holdback...allowing them a slight upper hand.

I see it all the time, some people just drive a ton. Wouldn't bother me much as that vehicle probably spent most of its life chilling on the highway, low stress.

Any way to see why Ford bought this explorer back? Carfax showed it was a lease and nothing else. Would think if it had mechanical issues carfax would of shown so service records.

Thank you. Is this something that has an electrical gremlin? Would you advise walking away from this?

It looks that way. Or it very well could be something the customer was doing.

Pass on it then? Has 7.6k miles. 18 months bumper to bumper left and 3 and half years on powertrain. Asking $31k. Haven't negotiated yet

Last question. And thank you very much again for your time....
Will Ford continue to warranty until issue is corrected? Or stop at the 3yr/36mo mark?

RAV vehicles won't have the 3yr/36k...they'll have a 1yr/12k from the day you buy it on all items, then it's your problem.

Its a hard pass on it. Thank you for your knowledge.
During the great recession, Lexus lease customers were known to tamper with their cars trying to get out of the leases. Our FTS' got BUSY inspecting all these bogus claims.

@13COBRA Question about X plan pricing: Will X-plan work on a special order vehicle? Or is it only apply to dealer stock?

Can a vehicle purchased with an X-Plan pin get more negotiated off the price of the vehicle? Its a dick move to not disclose you have an X-Plan PIN as that sets predetermined pricing, but can a dealer choose to give additional discounts to close a deal?

X Plan is ok on everything...whether in stock, or order..

Doesn't work on specialty vehicles, GT350, GT500, Raptor, etc.

It's $10-180 over invoice. Non-negotiable as it's a price, not a discount.
