Clunk gone

Picked up this '09 with only 6400 miles at a Ford dealership south of Indy last month. On the way home I heard the dreaded clunk when I hit bumps. The dealership was kind enough to have put a 4 mo/4k mile warranty on the car, so I took it in. They replaced the rear sway bar links & bushings, but couldn't test drive it because it was raining. (I'd asked them not to) On the way home it still clunked, so back it went. The car has Borla cat-back exhaust, & Eibach springs. Turns out on bumps the axle was hitting the pipes on both sides. The car was sitting a little too low for my taste anyhow, so I bought FRPP M-5300-L springs to raise it back up a little. They installed them at no charge. They had to "adjust" the pipes a little, but pronounced it ready today. I'll pick it up tomorrow & hopefully hear no clunk.

Very common on SRA cars. surprised it took them that much to figure it out.
It can deff be annoying
I wasn't going to have it sounding like a piece of junk when I pulled into the neighborhood or my driveway. It'll be nice to get it back tomorrow in time to park it for the winter!

Wow what a fantastic Shelby. Love the color, love the stripe delete.

If I buy another one some day, I’d like it to be just like yours OP.

Congrats!

Thanks! I wish I could say it was 1 of the 15 Torch Red coupes that were built stripe delete, but the window sticker says it originally had white stripes. I'm a stripe delete guy, too. My black one was like that. Not planning on doing a lot to this one. Just enjoy taking it to shows & cruises.

I love Torch red (and Race Red too), does yours have the Black w/Red seat insert interior or all Black (Charcoal)?

When I had the full 3" Shelby/JBA exhaust installed on my car, that was a concern of mine, adding 1/2" diameter to the system including the over the axle pipes and contact with anything in the axle area. I found that the panhard brace was the closest part to my OTA 3" pipes but my exhaust friend was able to adjust everything so I never had any contact. I recently changed the JBA 3" X-pipe for a 3" MAC Prochamber, all of the exhaust had to be disconnected to get the Prochamber in place, again I was worried about the 3" OTA's touching, but the person who worked on the system got everything to clear. The original person who did my 3" died a couple of years ago, so another guy at the same shop did the work this time. He did a good job also.

Thanks! It's got the all black or charcoal interior. I wanted something different this time. Something non-black. I love black, but I had a black 95 T-Bird SC, a black 09 GT, & a black 09 GT500. I detail cars on the side, & I always tell people you don't own the black car, the black car owns you!
I looked at it when it was up on the lift, & it sure does seem tight in there. Lots of stuff in a small area. The car has Shelby LCA's (I can see the CS logo), some aftermarket UCA & bracket, adjustable PHB, & 1 pc driveshaft. Once I get the car home for a while I need to go through it & see what other stuff it has. I've got a bunch of receipts from the original owner, but nothing from the 2nd one.
