labanon Ford is at it again. The Ohio dealership famous for offering big power for Mustangs on the cheap has just launched its newest project, Project M, and it promises 1000 horsepower from a Mustang GT for just $54,995.

The car is a Mustang GT equipped with a Performance Pack level 1 and an automatic transmission, matched with the buyer's choice of either a Whipple 3.0 generation-five supercharger or a D1X stage 2 Procharger. There are upgraded spark plugs, injectors, as well as a bigger heat exchanger, a cooler thermostat, and an upgraded fuel pump. The setup makes 1000 horsepower to the crank on E85 gasoline.

Lebanon Ford says the car will also come with a different supercharger pulley and a separate ECU tune for those who'd rather run their car on 93 octane, or don't have access to E85. The company says this setup should be good for around 800 horsepower at the crank, with all the same upgrades. Here's a video breaking down the car's upgrades further:

If you'd rather not pay for a performance pack car or an automatic transmission, Lebanon Ford estimates you can get this 1000-horsepower kit for as low as $50,000. It if were us, we'd ditch the auto but keep the performance pack upgrades. Bigger brakes, stickier tires, chassis bracing, and stiffer springs could be useful with all that power on tap.

You are much better off with the 10spd auto at these power levels, the MT82 will shit the ****ing bed, it’s not a matter of if, just when...plus this 10spd has proven itself to be quicker by a good bit.

the mt82 obviously wouldnt live but I thought the 10 speeds were having clutch issues or something in the 700/800 range, I wanna say it was up around 7th gear. I don't know the details but one of the F150 guys had his come apart in catastrophic fashion, messed up the coyote block too I believe

smoking deal considering what you get for the money...this dealer needs to put together a performance video with one of the cars and youtube the hell out of it. Gotta be a mid to low 10 second car on pump gas or high 9's on e85 with tire.

Everything on this car is on borrowed time.

Case in point...the new GT500. Look at all the upgrades Ford had to do for reliability and durability.

If absolute power is your thing, and your expectations are realistic, this looks to be a lot for your money.

@gimmie11s has been pushing his 10 spd hard with ON3 twins. I have no doubts it will eventually require attention, but don’t think he’s had any transmission issues yet.

1,000 crank hp on stock internals and stock trans? $55,000 ticking time bomb and i almost guarantee they will weasel their way out of the warranty claim.

fun times until it pops though..

Trans is still fine.. i actually thought it would be the trans before the motor but................ lol

Lasala will rebuild the 10r with Mcleod clutches for about $17-1800. I'll probably have that done as insurance.

1000 crank is mid 800s whp. They will live quite a while at that level. Just be sure to never go WOT with less than 1/4 fuel. Any lean condition or hiccup in the tune at 800+ will pop a piston as they are the weak link on these motors. Ring lands are weak and gaps are set too tight from factory for boost.

Any thought on turbo being easier on trans than SC at same power level? Or other way around?

Without a doubt easier on the entire drivetrain out of the hole. The PD blowers hit so hard so fast down low theyre an easy way to bust axles and input shafts. However, theyre a nice way to get around ever installing a converter.

Once the car is up and moving i suppose they are all pretty equally hard on components once youre past the 800whp mark.

On the 10r cars, it's 7th gear that is being exposed as the weak link. My car has 3.15 gears so i never hit 7th on the strip so i suppose i have that going for me.

I work with a guy that did this. 2019 Race Red vert with the 10r. He did the Hellion tt sleeper route on his though. They hit him with a $20k upgrade for that and he came out in the low $70's. Dyno sheet shows 640hp on 93 with low boost. Also has a E85 tune but hasn't tried that yet. He flew up there and drove it back to Ga.
