I'm surprised no thread about the UPS truck shootout

I can't believe this hasn't hit the radar yet, but has anyone seen this crazy shootout in Florida? Two jewelry store robbers got in a shootout with the store owner, injured an employee in the process, then fled the scene. Some time later they ditched their vehicle and hijacked a UPS truck, taking the UPS driver hostage. Then they got in a miles-long chase culminating in a shootout with the cops in the middle of stopped rush hour traffic. Both robbers, the UPS driver, and an innocent bystander killed. Must have been a million rounds fired. It seems to my untrained and generally cop-supportive self that this could have been handled better.

But who would you sue? Oh that's right, the good guys.
No, you sue everyone. Especially UPS as they removed the employees ability to defend himself from shit like this by not allowing him to carry, but did not provide any security for him.
They have money for lawsuits for just this built into their insurance policy.

What in the ****! Seriously I’m all for supporting police but using cars that people are occupied in for cover, hell no.

I’d be running those police over to protect myself and family. There’s a time and place for everything and that just wasn’t it to try and make your stop point of that truck.

Does not matter. Playing WW III in the middle of the traffic is stupid. Even if there had been only the perps in the van. From what I have seen there were stopped cars all around them. Surprised they did not shoot each other. Big time lawsuit coming out of this one.
Yes it does.

Police killed the UPS driver and a bystander. I want nothing short of LEO’s going to prison over this. And all of their leadership needs to be fired.

If I had gotten into a shootout with an armed gunman and one of my bullets strikes an innocent bystander I will go to jail 10/10 times. Police should too.

And **** those guys who are literally putting civilians between themselves and hostile fire. They can burn in hell.

Obviously the criminals bear the blame but the Cowboy cops share it. They need to be held responsible as well.

That was unbelievable to watch. The police in this situation were extremely careless with their surroundings. They killed 2 innocent people because of this.

I was watching live and the whole thing seemed like a giant charlie foxtrot. I guess I am used to watching the pursuits out of LA where every one has 3-4 news helicopters over them so the police don't do the cowboy stuff. I was shocked at them using civilian cars for cover with people still in them.

That looked like a scene out of a movie smh
Yes Heat and Sicario 2.

I am also supportive of cops but this is BS. They should have followed the UPS truck from a distance and could have tracked it with a helicopter. Perhaps the criminals shot first but they would not have had reason to shoot if the cops were far away. I guess we'll have to get the details about this. It really sucks for the UPS guy and the bystander.
