The most recent Ghostbusters was a masterpiece that failed because of the sexist patriarchy.

LOL. I thought the humor was actually pretty good, and the entertainment value was underrated.

But, I agree that the Hollywood agenda far outweighed any good to that movie.

That movie produced far more cringes than laughs.

I hope the ghosts in this new one don't look cartoony like the 2016 one. The "Terror Dog" foot looked legit, but that green glow in the mine shaft was suspect.

The original Ghostbusters ghosts weren't the pinnacle of frightening either....

Was looking forward to this and unfortunately this trailer didn't come across as the smashing hit I wanted it to be. Hopefully the next ones are better.

I'll go to see this one- looks better than the last at least!!

Somebody cut the original theme song into the end of the trailer. Upped the nostalgia hit a bit.

I must admit, what looked like a big "NO" to me suddenly became a strong "maybe" by virtue of that music. Seriously

They had a much more physical presence than the 2016 version because they were rotoscoped puppets. Sometimes those old practical effects are better.

With 1080p on up the older practical effects just dont look good. I think the only movie that blended both together that still works today was the original Jurassic Park. The 2016 effects while not good and were very cartoonish were not bad and i think fit with the style the movie was trying to portray.

I will say that the newer CGI is absolutely garbage and can look worse without a massive budget for doing it correctly. 99% of movies that use CGI these days screw it up.

I hope with the "dog" foot that hit the hood of the car in the trailer is an indication that they maybe went both practical effects and CGI like JP. Crossing my fingers.

looks good...i like the direction they are going and the backstory they are using...

hell, i'm just happy if they make ANY movie today without a feminism/woke cast! I grew up on stallone, schwarzenegger, van damme and segal. Now, I get 19 year old 5'2 chicks with man haircuts, who they want us to believe can take on the world but in all reality probably have trouble waking up before noon everyday!

I submit the original Alien and the first Predator for your consideration. A man in a rubber suit can still look awesome. If you want to see some great puppet work watch the first Terminator.

You sound toxically masculine.

It's going to. If the original surviving 3 only have a cameo, I am out. It isn't Ghostbusters without Ray, Peter and Winston. Heck, I would take the ghost of Egon. Based on this taking place at Ray's family farm house that he took a 2nd mortgage out on to fund the original Ghostbusters, I am going to wager that he is the dead grandfather. It could be Egon, but that wouldn't match up too well with canon. I am hoping for more, but I feel like this is going to be a let down. Sort of like Star Wars with no ultra powerful Luke being the main focus.... Oh wait, we did get that shit.
I concur with your guesstimate, Jeff. LOL. Yeah, it's probably gonna be a disappointment! The special effects will be better, of course, but the story itself, without the original cast members? I'm not expecting much.

i HAVE TO DISAGREE with most of you. The story line has a serious tone to it and the humor to it should be subtle and not too silly. Most of the characters in the original were serious characters with the humor being fantastic and subtle at the same time. I like the way the story is set up and I think this will be a great sequel to a great movie.
