Hey SVTP, I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on. It’s a twin cylinder steam/compressed air engine. Each cylinder has two compression strokes per revolution, so combined there’s 4 power strokes per flywheel revolution. The cylinders have a .500” bore and a .700” stroke. Piston and rods are machined from brass. For the heads I used .300 Win Mag shell casings. The intake stems from a .338 Lapua cartridge, and the exhaust is twin .38 special cases.

I have a DC power generator on its way here that will spin off a .125” belt that will power LED’s mounted to the base board.

Talk his is the third one I’ve made for Christmas gifts. ill post more pics/videos when it’s complete. Hope you enjoy. Merry Christmas.

Awesome. I see the individual air/steam lines, but how does the valve mechanism work? Are there check valves or just the porting on the "piston."

the air and exhaust ports are mounted on the backing plate. The cylinder pivots with crank rotation changing between the intake and exhaust ports alignment during its stroke. It’s called a rocker or wobbler set up

here’s a single cylinder one I made earlier in the year with bolt on aluminum heads. The bolt on design is easier to wok with, but who can say no to bullet casings?!

the casings are press fit on, glued with 272 high temp loctite, and pinned on. They’re never coming off
