Yeah I think I’m going to set up for the 2.9 because I think 600 is more a starting point for me and I’d like to have the option to go up from there

Bigger & Cheaper is not always better. If it was, I could have bought a 2.9 for my Shelby for $2700.00 this week

On my Terminators, I ran a 2.9 Whip, a 2.3 Whip with 4# lower, and a Gen 1 VMP after removing the 2.9. All on pump 93.

I run a VMP on my Shelby for a reason. I like TQ on the street

The used blower market is taking a huge hit right now! Due to the most recent 40% off Whipple sale. Nobody in their right mind is going to charge more than $3000 for a used 2.9.

Go 2.9 even standard inlet. There are a few gen 3 2.9s on IG for sale. 2.3 guys are funny. I have no clue why, but they expect the most for their used blowers.

Can't go wrong with either...2.9 will take you much further!

If cash is an issue, I'd say grab a used 2.3 and maximize that setup, you should make right around 600 at the wheels.

Return fuel system e85 friendly, just in case. I would talk to your tuner about injectors. They are a quick swap with once you decide to increase power/boost so I’d be more concerned with getting the injector that will best fit your set up with some head room, and specifically injectors your tuner likes to use.

They aren’t with a Whipple!

OP, I’d get at least 80s/1050x/or whatever FIC injector is equivalent.

I did a Fore Level 1E kit through a vendor here; they beat lethal prices. Deleted rails (wasn’t pulling my Whipple and stock support upwards of 750wheel) and deleted the Fore “controller”. Total waste of $300. Did the same thing for $14 worth of Pico 40amp relays. Get the PTFE lines and the 465s.

Best bang for buck is probably a Gen2 2.9 or VMP2.3. Either will be at 600 on pump and north of 700 on E.

I'd say go 2.9 or a 3.4. I have a E85 2.3 and while it's fast it's nothing like a 3.4 in the upper RPM's. Hence why I'm putting a 3.4 on that I bought off a friend.

I think with the 3.4 you will hood clearance issues. Correct?
You wont have issues if you use the 1/2" mm k member spacers. I know for a fact it will (3.4) fit under the hood with stock kmember and above listed spacers. Certain k members will have issues even with the addition of spacers. In that case you'll have to cut a small 4×4-4x6ish hole into the hood brace on the underside of the hood. The spacer route would be cleanest.

The 3.4 will fit under the hood with k member spacers, if you run a 4.0 pully which is 19lbs with stock lower you will have to notch a little bit of the hood out. It’s really easy with a dremel. A 3.75 pully will fit fine.

right <****in eye roll>

So 674ft-lbs of torque isn't enough?

I finally got into WOT tuning of my car today and I can't say I consider it lazy. I punched it and the car took off. I saw 20psi on the gauge and I'm waayy low on timing.

Is Kevin doing it?

Either way, be careful, once he added full timing into mine I accidentally ran it to 7k on the last log run.

3.4L whipple on pump gas? 93 octane? lol we asked that question to my tuner 100 years ago and he walked away from us shaking his head lol

Get a used vmp 2.3 if you want to stay pump gas. Just my opinion. You don't want to be making a post two weeks after the install saying, " man, my car has no low end. It only pulls up top. why is that cobra with the smaller blower faster than me?" Do research. 8:5.1 compression, 4.6L and big blowers on pump gas don't work well.
