Tob,

Is there something up with yours? I've been away and quite possible I missed this.

Mine was manufactured in November, loaded on a railcar and made it to the last stop and unloaded. Ford then placed a hold on the car which prevents it from being released/trucked to the dealer. So it sits in a railyard.

Ford won't comment but there has been talk of a fuel tank related issue (or at least the potential of) for about 100 cars. So the car sits there outside with no talk of a solution.

boy, ford shat the bed, releasing this car. I guess I didn't really expect much difference. Possibly a little more smooth.

From the owner's manual:
BREAKING-IN
Your vehicle requires a break-in period. Drive your new vehicle at least 100 mi (160 km) before performing extended wide open throttle maneuvers and at least 1,000 mi (1,600 km) before operating your vehicle at high speeds or track conditions.

His situation could get worse if Ford denies his warranty claim based on him posting a video performing a parking lot length burnout, bouncing off the rev limiter several times, with no miles on a new engine, as his friend makes the statement: "about to blow that engine.....first day".

It must be nice to purchase an $80K+ car and not know how much you paid for it or anything about it.
Some memorable quotes from the video:
"This car was almost $100K ........... i guess it was only $82K.....that's actually a really good deal to be honest"
"I think this has a lot of horsepower....like 780 hp.......I think"
"It has a dual clutch with about 7 gears......what, it is a 10 speed dual clutch...I don't know, that sounds like a lot of gears.........

10/1 he’s less mechanically inclined than he thinks, and more foolish than he knows.

I don’t think he set out to toast the car, but he clearly didn’t understand that bouncing the limiter and scorching rings and valveseats before they fully set/seat is dumb.

Does he do this shit with Ferrari’s and Lambo’s? Guaranteed you would throw a timing assembly on a 488 gtb in 100 miles if you bounce the limiter and carry on with 20 second burnouts etc all cold start full send, shipping fuel etc.

1-2mo old gas, original oil, cold start, 8000rpm? Hold it there bouncing the limiter for 20 seconds?

He’s the guy that needs a Tesla.

I’m guessing he doesn’t buy a lot of the Ferraris or exotics as first owner/brand new.
Either way, I’m going to a work conference in Vegas in 3 weeks. Instead of doing another Dream Racing trip, maybe I can rent this GT500 for a day?
I’m hoping it’s fixed by then!

Wow, now that sucks. I know you were excited about it's arrival. To have it suddenly delayed with no reason/info from Ford or the dealer, pours salt in the wound. I hope whatever the issue, it get resolved QUICKLY to your satisfaction.

He mentioned 91 Octane, is that the highest they have in Nevada?

I know in California they don't have 93, I wonder how SP is getting by running his there?

Didn't see anything in that video that would damage a properly built motor. Break in miles are more for driveline wear than anything.

I would bet he ran it out of gas. His bad mouthing it came without much gas, sounded like he never checked the gauge.
Do not know how bad this would be at rpm, or if the engine has protection for it.
