The problem is the small file size limitations on the site. You basically can't upload any files larger than 2mb.
I get error messages any time I try to upload pics directly. The only way I can get pics to work here is by hosting them on postimages.org and pasting the link.

Hopefully in the future we can fix that. We use to have the best how to section on the internet.

To be honest, I put a crap ton of time into making that thread. Hopefully it helps others. I really have no desire to spend more time make another.

I rarely post pictures here due to the picture problem.

Pretty complicated install for something as basic as an oil separator. I see JLT has their 2020 GT500 delivered already, I'd wait a couple months for them to release the plug and play version.

Its complicated because it works as a true oil separator. Jlt is just a catch can.

I understand that, just an observation. Personally I prefer a simple catch can that can be easily removed. What's the price on this thing?

I know this option wont be for everyone. But the fact that ford offered this and its smog legal is nice. Technically in CA a catch can will fail smog because it was not a factory option. Its deals with emissions related equipment.

Not sure on the price im sure @Goose17 will chime on that part.

Actually catch cans are exempt because they don't interfere with the PCV system.

From the above link...

"Is a PCV Catch Can Legal for Use in California?

Is the use of an aftermarket "catch can" legal for use in California? A catch can is a baffled container that is installed in the PCV line(s) to remove oil from the crankcase blow-by gases before they return to the engine, preventing oil-fouling of the intake system when the gases are reintroduced to the engine for burning. It is a passive device with no moving parts.

Answer:

Unfortunately not. Any modification to a vehicle's emissions system is considered an Emissions Tamper and will cause a vehicle to fail the California smog check... regardless of whether the modification will improve or degrade harmful emissions output. If an emissions component is not tested and approved by the California Air Resources Board for use an any given make, model, and year vehicle and engine, the component may not be legally installed on the vehicle's engine.

BZZZZTT.
Incorrect.

Appendix G, oil separators that maintain a closed crancase system are exempt and legal in the eyes of CARB. Note the chart in the pdf I attached and on page 2 under "other."
