Just figured this would be an interesting question. I sort of guessed it would be 50/50. Some saying they would rather sleep in their own bed, others saying after a long day at the track, a 5-10 minute drive to a hotel is a much better idea.

I hear you. Didn’t mean to offend. But you got to look at cost vs risk. $80 bucks is not worth risking your safety. It just isn’t. So if you have to question spending the $80 on a hotel, you might as well re-think the trip.

get you a hotel and really enjoy the trip.

JMHO.

No offense taken, just putting more background to me question.

Where’s the ritz at only $150 a night?

I was just saying in theory I could afford the Ritz, but something like $150 a night would be more reasonable...but I actually was in a $30 a night hostel.

Thread doesn’t specify but are you taking a daily or a nice car? If it was me I couldn’t sleep knowing my cobra is in some random parking garage/lot. Otherwise if it’s the beater, I’d stay.

Taken the daily and going with a friend who is flying in.

You're asking about overnight stays for a 61 mile trip?

For me it boils down to 1 question: Will I be drinking?

If yes, I'm staying there.

If no, I'll make the trip.

For a NASCAR race? I'd have booked the hotel before I got the tickets. lol
