That the main reason to go with the CFTP, IMO.

Those wheels are a HUGE advantage.

I do agree but they are also available in the aftermarket. So let the guys who want something like that get them, but put all the "track-y" stuff in another option? ala 2013/2014MY GT500? (so the price doesn't reach $95K+)

In reality, I think the Mustang will need that option to have a chance at beating the Crapmaro. Which I think is bad for Mustang after all the True Believers buy theirs.

There are some reported times for the mustangs (CFTP and non) as well as the ZL1 1LE in the same track. Mustangs had a pro behind the wheel and Camaro had an experienced amateur. The results had the CFTP 500 1st, ZL1 1LE 2nd and regular 500 last. The ZL1 1LE was closer in lap time to the CFTP 500, than to the non.

That's been my (reading) experience as well... A great test would be at a track like VIR which has the big straights for the power and enough twisties/elevation changes....
