Got an 2019 R, have had it in the garage since I got it. Been driving it sparingly for the last few months. Has 250 miles on it and was built around late July. Should I get the oil changed now early mileage wise or wait till the 1,000 mile break in time? How long does the original break in oil last?

It's not going to hurt to wait until (near) the end of the break-in period. It's also not going to hurt to change the oil sooner. If it was my GT-350, based on your mileage I'd change it around March-April for peace of mind. When I owned my '03 Cobra, I changed the break-in oil at the 500 mark, and regularly changed it thereafter every 4-6 months. Did the same with my Genesis G-70's first oil change. Did it just for my peace of mind.

How and why do you guys buy such nice cars and NEVER drive'em??:confused:o_O

I put 250 miles on my 2019 Vert the weekend I got it!!:D

You can never change oil too often but waiting to 1000 miles should be OK unless you just start it and let it sit just and idle to listen to it??

Not getting it to operating temperature and running it some will build up oil contaminants much faster than just driving it!!:(

Good Luck and FWIW.......DRIVE YOUR CAR SOME!!:D

I would wait for 1000. I have had my oil analyzed each time I have changed it by Blackstone and I think it is a great precaution.

Given your usage on it, I'd just wait until the oil life monitor says to change it. At this rate, it'll time out before you get to 1,000 miles anyway, so don't rush. I usually run my new vehicles closer to 2,000 miles before the first change, but everyone has their favorite and that's just mine.

I appreciate the advice gentlemen. I will run it more for sure come spring. I should get to 1000+ miles by March/April.
