Not sure I completely agree. New ratios seem more boost friendly with 3.73s, and it is absolutely smoother shifting in stock form.

I’m surprised he actually did a video on this.

I agree that the 15-17 ratios are better than the 18+. The 18+ ratios are pretty close to the tr3650 ratios and I absolutely hate them. Super short first gear and then three long gears.

The double overdrive is nice but 5 fun gears are better! Maybe they should have made a 7-speed like the c7 had.

As an owner of an N/A 2018 M6 car, i absolutely wish that we still had the "old" MT82 gear ratios. I figure I'll be getting some 4.09's at some point if I don't bite the bullet and add boost. I do agree with Sid's assessment that the new trans gear ratios are boost friendly.

I actually think the 18+ gear ratios are better, more like the tremec TR6060.

What if I told you a 7-Speed is coming soon?

Oh man!! This is SERIOUS business! I honestly thought that the manual would die completely in the near future...
I am very close to pulling the trigger on a PP1 car...but can definitely wait if there is going to be a manual upgrade.

I completely concede that todays 10sp auto or DCT is more capable than manual, but is it more FUN...?

The reality is at my skill level, I will NEVER extract all the performance even a stock GT can provide (riding with a quality driver at a good track made that clear)...so I prefer the engagement & enjoyment of rowing my own.
