The wife and I are discussing getting her a commuter car. It needs to get around 25 mpg and be able to fit a rear facing infant seat. Would like to stay around a 10k budget. What do you recommend???

Def get a full size sedan. Otherwise I recommend suv like a Ford Edge. Not a huge fan of my fusion sport for kid seat hauling. Just a tight fit with some of these car seats.

Just get an Accord. They run forever. I've got a '11 Accord w/ V6. I usually get about 27mpg on the freeway. It's a great commuter. Built for families.

+1 Fusion or Mercury Milan with 4 cylinder. Trunk was huge. Pic of MIL, she sold hers last spring. It was a reliable, very comfortable, great looking car.
