Sort of at a loss for words. Been scouring the net for answers but it seems like its not a common cancer and I cant find any hard info.

Long story short, my cousin was experiencing discomfort in his stomach last year. Went to the doctor but being that he was 31 years old, and they performed and ultrasound which showed nothing, they told him to change his diet and sent him on his way.

The pain started getting worse so he went back 2 weeks ago and pressured the doctors. They found a mass near his appendix and small nodules (which they say aren’t cancer) around his abdominal.

He went to the surgeon today and they’re saying that it looks like Omentum cancer. They want to act aggressively, so he’s scheduled for surgery on Thursday. They said they wont know anything with certainty until they get in there.

Of course the little info I did find online, showed that Omentum cancer is generally not good. Anybody here have it, or had a family member diagnosed with it?

Sorry to hear that. How did they find the mass? CT scan?
Did they do the biopsy? IE is it a metastasized cancer or the origin was there?
Or is that what the surgery is for on Thursday?

(Not a medical expert in any way)

They found nodules on his omentum with the CT scan, then the MRI found the mass near his appendix. They’re not sure if the tumor is on his appendix and the omentum surrounded it, or if it’s on his omentum.

The tumor also looks bumpy, but they’re not sure if it’s fluid build up, or solid.

We will find out more info on Thursday after the surgery. This has been the longest day ever.
