So would I need ATI balancer for 2015 since my sb is gen2 or get balancer for 2011-14?

I ordered Ford Racing Sprocket and boundary OPG’s.

Btw don’t waste your money on aftermarket sprocket that everyone wants to charge 200+, i got ford racing for $35 shipped. (According to ford racing its 5 times stronger than stock one)

Keeps saying its for a +15. Thought gen 1 sproket was diff & needed for a gen 2->1swap

Vic
Well.... we are going to find out.

ok now you made me think...

block is Gen 2 so I figured it would be for the block.
Do you know exact location of Crank Sprocket? I was under assumption that its location is the block and not heads.

Yeah I know the exact location, I replaced my own about a year or 2 ago. You are putting it into a 11-14 mustang right? I could be wrong, but if you are it should be gen 1 cams, cam sprokets, phasers, primary chains, secondary chains & crankshaft sproket for it to work. At least thats what Ill be swapping over from mine.

Ohh man, I thought it mounts on the block so thats why I got it for 2015-17. And yes i will be using my Gen 1 heads from 2011.

As far as ATI 20%OD, its price is very close to just getting 8 rib set up for a paxton.
Do you guys think its better to get the 8 rib setup instead of ATI 15-20 OD ?

I’m Just worried that once i put my wastegate to 12 psi the 6 rib may start slipping. Although at 10 psi i never experienced any slip.

Gen 1 or 2 heads, either will still need the gen 1 timing components for it to work. As for the balancer/pulley, Im still not sure, I just assume gen 2 block would need a gen 2 balancer which is $112 from tasca. Need to look more into this. But will be adding an ATI I just dont know how the 20% OD works. I run a Whipple so I have no idea on the Paxton

I thought gen 2 heads came with boss springs & valves. I was counting on them as part of the price of heads.

Vic

They typically come "loaded" with valves and springs from Ford if you were to order them from Tasca, or someone along those lines.

So did the crank sprokets match up? Exact same as old one?

Vic

I don’t know yet.
But the guy from the shop said it will line up.. idk conflicting information so far.

He said that there is a sprocket in the timing mechanism located by the heads that need to be matched to the heads, but this one gets matched to the block.
So we will see soon.

I also spoke with JPC and lethal about ATI and they said its main point is to have more belt wrap, what it will also do is give more boost with same blower pulley.
And if my main objective is to not have belt slip it will probably be better to go with 8 rib setup.

Those turbo Coyotes are no joke. lol
I was actually thinking of doing something similar. Keeping the stock block and just adding the forged internal kit, balanced and rock out 750rwhp-800rwhp. I'd be good with that. I don't go to the drag strips, just street use. Should be more than enough. lol
Great thread idea by the way!
I had a 2017 GT with the stock coyote

Sorry... I was trying to say I had a stock 2017 GT. Before I even drove it after buying it new, I supercharged it. Put AR long tubes, cold air, billet oil pump gears, upgraded cooling, etc. It was putting down 700rwhp. I tried to kill it and kept it in the redline for 17,000 hard core, daily driven miles. Still ran great when I traded it for my GT500. I would feel comfortable with 750-800 hp on the late model stock coyote internals, as long as you upgrade the oil pump and crank gears to a quality billet set. They seem to be the weak link in the 5.0 when you up the ponies. Its always a gamble to some degree, but I know of several 5.0 on stock internals that only have upgraded oil pump gears that are supercharged and even twin turboed hellion setups that are 900-1,000 hp and are holding up with hard miles!

Doubt they have sodium filled valves, and possibly have boss springs. But i dont trust the boss spring . They wear out relatively quickly. I currently run the trick flow (pac) springs with 209lbs pressure, cant remember part number. Most use the 1234x springs which have more seat pressure, like 220lbs or something. They are generally the heaviest your supposed to run vct with.

I would agree. You match timing components and cams to gen of the pcm.

The od balancer would allow you to run a bigger blower pulley reducing chances of slip.

I thought the ati balancer was for 11-17, possibly all coyotes?

My gen1 with opg's held up many hard miles at >800whp

We are talking about 15k+

You're probably right about the ATI, but for the o.e they differ from each gen. Will be going ATI & I dont think Ill need the %20 od since I wont be running much boost. I had not heard that about the boss 302 springs. I was also considering modular head shop's stage 2 freshen up & port for the heads. Only reason I plan on running gen 2 heads is because Im trying to put together a decent stout 800whp long block. Pull mine out, then rebuild that one myself slowly while I beat on the gen 2 hybrid one. At least thats the plan. Thanks for the info
