I guess they figure they have their market locked up. The internet and dealers like @13COBRA are nipping around the edges more and more. Warranty work is all that keeps some dealerships open.

At this point I would imagine all the factory 2V manifolds that are going to fail have been replaced or are sitting with the rest of the car in a pick-n-pull.
I was kind of shocked that Ford offered this new still. Though, I'd imagine that it's precariously close to End Of Life.

Just glad my 2v V10 is an all aluminum design.

Of course , the unicorn 1999 5.4 2V intake was all aluminum, unsure if it's retrofit able to plastic versions.

May take a little work, but it should be.

Be aware

The aftermarket plastic one's are 99% of the time designed on the NPI runners. So you actually lose torque/power by using the aftermarket variation over a true Ford part. I know this only because I found my intake to have been replaced on my 2v motor and ultimately figured out why the car was down on power. It was a dorman/NPI redo with PI flanges. Tiny runners.

But it's okay. I'm fixing it by swapping my motor to a terminator drivetrain in the GT

That should help you find that lost power.

I have nice PI used one sitting in a box I never used. On my old 97 GT.
Debabting on what to do with it.

Never even knew the 99 5.4 used and aluminum intake manifold, wonder what some porting would do

It’s a Dorman manifold, as Ford’s doesn’t have holes between runners. Dorman will make less power on the Dyno.

PI vs NPI depends on the runner closest to the front of the car-and which side it goes to. PI goes to drivers side if memory recalls.

I don’t see why a manifold would get rave reviews. There’s not a secret Kenne bell in there. Either fake reviews, or people are excited to get their cars fixed and they can blow the extra money on an 1/8th.
