Do you trust dyno results? The 2020 GT500 is certainly a fun new toy. Any on track predictions?
Good stuff Travis!
I would guess on the stock blower that's non ported the gains would be a little less?
I hope y'all do another pull with the hood closed and the airbox lid off. I'm expecting to see that 65 gain drop even without a heat soaked engine. I suspect that gain was mainly due to increased airflow with the hood open. If so, I expect to see a lot of hoodless GT500s rolling around. lol
Wow, very cool.
Where did this car come from? Ported blower but all else stock?
Ford has put out some great Orange Cobra/Shelbys over the years. This is one of if not the best one yet. Although the 2004 Competition Orange was special too.
But with the hood closed most of those 65 horses disappeared. With higher temps due to the pulls. I thought the gist of it was that intake is already optimized and airflow mods will likely only benefit higher hp motors. ??
Interesting vid. Makes you wonder how efficient the factory CAI actually is???? Maybe it's allowing too much engine-heated air into it, or perhaps it's undersized??? Or maybe it actually DOES function well at speed, when outside air is directed into it?
I'd like to see some actual driving tests (0-60 and 1/4 mile) with hood off & CAI top off versus hood on to really quantify this.

One thing is for certain...
Car sounds so damnnn good Stock.!!
I gotta get out of this Forum and back to the 13/14 section before I do something stupid and spend ALOT of money.
I think the take away is that there's power to be made by removing restriction (especially at higher boost), but not if you're going to suck in hot underhood air. The trick would be getting the filter as close to that opening in the grill as possible and blocking it off from as much hear as you can.
Bamm
Bamm-ity Bamm! That was a great video, thanks for posting it. It was well produced, no shaky cam, very clear HD pic..... love the classic plumber's crack at 4:40, hahahaha
Just as I suspected, the stock CAI works just fine at speed and looks well designed too.
If it was in my price range I'd be in trouble I think. Wasn't sold on the initial renders, but in person these look great and sound even better. Love that blower whine!
