"More than you can afford Pal, Shelby!"

All jokes aside they were asking about probably a little high, but I was the right sucker. Not too far off market, but obviously a unique find.

If anyone has any hints on how to convince the wife to keep my other GT500 as a daily, I am all ears, lol.

Im sure if you can pull off buying a like new 2014 gt500. Youll have no problem convincing the wife to keep the other one.

I currently have a 2010gt500 that I have had for almost 9 years. I am the second owner, and picked it up with 4k miles on it. It is grabber w/ white stripes and has virtually trouble free. It now had 10ok miles on it and I am ready for a new ride.

After debating picking up a gt350 and going TT, a Hellcat redeye, A ZL1 1LE, or a new GT500, I decided I would rather have the new Shelby. However, that market is problematic at the moment, but I still want something. I came across a 2014 that is still "in the wrapper". It was part of some fortunate fellow's collection of amazing Ford/Shelby products, and only has 7.5 miles on it. Full option car save for the glass roof. Ingot with Blue stripes, which I assume is a rare color as well.

I need a back seat, so it was one of the top tier Pony cars, or a GTR. As we named our little girl Shelby (2years old), I think I know what I want. It is coming in an enclosed transport from out of state, so I will just sell my 2010 after it arrives to recoup the down payment funds.

I am excited to join the Trinity owners and stay in the Shelby family. I will post up some pics of my 3 Shelbys when it arrives :) Although the 2 year old is much slower, we still think she is a doll :) She also likes cars and likes when I get on the gas hard....so maybe the name is appropriate :)
Hey OP, in your original post did you mean to say your first one has 100,000 miles or 10,000? The reason I ask is if its indeed 100,000 miles, how has it held up for you? I have 21,000 on the clock and drive it pretty hard as a daily. Just wondering what to expect. Thanks.

100k. 90k with the usual bolt ons (upper, lower, HE, ORX, cat back and tune.) Granted, it has never seen the strip, but some typically roll hits and Mexico stuff some time ago. Other than consumables, it really has never given me any issues. I still get compliments nearly every day from strangers. Those two facts are my big pushes for this car. It has really been a tremendous car. Not really the fastest ( it made 540whp on a local mustang dyno), but plenty of fun. I actually bought a 2.8 KB kit off of this site years ago, and it has sat in the box for the last 8 years or so, because the car is plenty fun.

I turned 40 last year, and thought I would be picking up a 05 or 06 Ford GT at this time for 70, based on what they sold new. Well. we all see the values did not go the way I was hoping.

I hope this car bridges the gap to and even better ride, I think the new Shelby, but would love a last ACR viper, but I will play it my ear. :) There are honestly so many "right" choices, that I can understand some of these collections.

foremost... awesome find OP. Congratulations. Secondly, you find a 05 06 GT that’s drivable. I’ll give you a hefty finders fee ;)

I hear you! I am a little sour about always wanting a birth year Porsche turbo (1979), and seeing the cost 20 years ago vs now. It sure would have been nice to have the money to match the vision at times. The only thing I was rolling in back then was CC debt from paying tuition.

One of my VP's bought a Tungsten ford GT (oil company exec) among other cool rides in his collection. I would think I would personally have to have more than 1 of them before it would be derivable. I guess it depends on the depth of the pockets. I wish I had that dilemma!

Awesome find and congratulations!

Now the real question is, are you going to drive the car some or keep it stored?

Thanks!

Therein lies the rub. It seems lie a shame to drive it, just the same as not drive it. I know we want to u a really nice home, and I think she was expecting me to replace my large down payment money with proceeds from my 2010 sale, but it is really hard to find "the" house. I might be able to spin it into getting a different daily for what my 2010 sells for, but I would surely miss the fun of the hot rod. Maybe I will look at used ranger prices...lol

Thanks! The wife made it seem possible to keep the 2010 as a daily to keep miles off the new ride. She really likes it. Maybe there is a chance ') She did ok me buying a new one, which king of would have been the same thing....hmmmmm
