I'm not sure the Previous owners reasoning for using the RXT but if it didn't already have one I would have put one in for sure. I've used a RXT on all of my cobras with great success. Never used a RST. My thought process is "room to grow" and the clutch is like butter.

You know I didn't even consider anything like that. I'm going to have to go back and rethink this now. I'm glad you pointed it out before I had the whipple put on. HAHA.
Can they not just be put over the factory rubber gromet/gasket?

That's how I have them now. Factory grommet with that metal piece in the middle and then the hardware I posted above.

OP, I know the previous owned did it but . . . why use an RXT on this car, when the RSTs are rated at 800 crank HP?

Just curious, as I have an RST on mine, and I'm wondering if I made a mistake. I could only find one instance online where an RST failed someone with less than 800 . . .

The way McLeod explained it to me is that they definitely both hold the power, but the organic material of the RST discs are not as well suited to drag racing launches on a sticky track and could glaze.

Exactly. The RST material doesnt do well when over heated from hard launches or slipping. Holding power is good, just not suited for drag racing like the RXT is.

Gotcha. Mine is street only. Going to build up to that 800 HP level that the RST advertises, and I was starting to believe I would need to change out to the RXT.

The money to go to the RXT doesn't bother me as much as the hassle of having to break in a new clutch at the same time I'm breaking in new go-fast parts and needing to be on the dyno.

Maximum Motorsports day.

Had plans to install kmember and all associated components.. unfortunately I never ordered the control arm pivot hardware..(I'm beginning to notice a trend here).

I was able to get the k member squared and the CC plates put on.

It's nice to see the motor sitting in place all on it's own again...

Ordered the MMR oil filter relocation kit.

And also decided to pick up a EMP water pump from summit "because I'm already in there.

So I'll be idle for a day or two waiting on some parts.

I cant see why that wouldn't work

Ever wonder why the factory valve cover hold downs have that white crap on them? That's a sealer from the factory. When I have mine apart I smear a thin bead of silicone on bottom of the bolt head to seal it.

Honestly I never noticed any on mine when I did my studs and so far I've been leak free. Hopefully it stays that way.
Now my covers were off from the previous owner so it's very likely it was there from the factory and wasnt put back on when they did the covers

Are they gold plated, Nate? LOL. I like how your Cobra is progressing. A lot of really nice mods. Just in time for Spring/Summer. ;)

Thank you, Sir! I really hope it is ready in time.

We just got a bunch of snow up here so I at least have until that melts to be ready LOL

Made some more progress today.

The EMP water pump came in so i was able to pop that on real quick.

Also decided to get the alternator on and start routing the wire for the "BIG 3" upgrade. I'm using the Ken Miley alt this time around.

See the pictures to compare the two.

I was able to get the power cable and ground to motor mount done.

I ran into a problem on the motor to chassis ground... with the MM Kmember the stock location is blocked. The terminals for the big wire doesn't leave me very many easily accessible options to mount it. The is plenty of room between the motor and shock tower area but I dont have an angle to get a self tapping screw in there.

Anyone have any suggestions???

Hoping to recieve the oil filter relocation and MM hardware for the control arms by monday so i can have the entire front end done by the end of next week.

I had the same problem since I'm running the MM k member as well. I currently still have the factory ground from the motor mount to where the clutch cable bracket attaches. My upgraded ground is running from the top alternator bolt to the chassis ground up by the battery.

I think I found a good spot behind the fender liner to use for the chassis ground.

In other news...I'm injector shopping..

I'm really considering the FIC 1000s.. but keep thinking I should go ID 1050x.. but then I think about the FIC1200s for the same price as the 1050x.....

Goals are 750ish RWHP on the e85 tune.. I'll probably run e85 like 80% of the time and use a 93 tune for longer trips and what not.

Thoughts?

1050x here. I'm pushing 800 on E and have plenty of room to go. Justin Fore recommended them so that's what I went with

Dropped the tank and installed the fuel hat today.

Fore makes such quality stuff that it's a shame that its hidden.

Dual 465s with -8 feed and return. I'll be working on routing the lines

I'm super proud of my self for not breaking the level sender this time.

Last time I did this I broke 2 of them LOL.
