I'm gonna have to swap to a T56 at some point

The Magnum trans is a dream and the wide ratio has a nice tall 6th, with 4.10s I'm cruising the same rpm as I would with a 3650 and 3.73s. If you do go that route do NOT use a shifter gasket on it, RTV it. There have been a couple of us that used a gasket that had an issue with the shifter bolts loosening (gasket probably collapsed/compressed slightly over time with heat cycles etc..). You can NOT reach the front shifter bolts with the trans in the car (well, maaaaaybe it's possible but it would be a royal pita).

Greetings all, I recently came across a really nice example of a well modified Cobra that I had to snap up. The car has 43k original miles and comes with an entire laundry list of options:

Exhaust:
Bassani SS Optimum length headers
SS X pipe with high-flow cats
SS catback with Bassani mufflers

Driveline:
McCloud Billet Aluminum flywheel
Centerforce dual friction clutch
Pro 5.0 STS
Driveshaft loop
Steeda SS clutch cable and adjustment
Precision Shaft Technologies CF driveshaft
Superior 31 spline axles
4:10 gears
Aluminum rear diff cover (Trickflow)

Suspension:
Eibach lowering springs
Tokico Illumina Adjustable front shocks
Tokico rear sport shocks
Steeda rear sway bar
Maximum Motorsports LCAs
Steeda UCAs
Kenny Brown SFCs (welded)

Ignition:
MSD Ignition
Diablosport Flip Chip
Taylor 409 racing plug wires
Denso Iridium plugs

Power:
Vortech V2 with power cooler (pulley size unknown at the moment)
Steeda CAI
BBK 65 mm TB

Misc:
Be Kool aluminum radiator
HID headlights
Custom gas cap cover with remote release and new Ford style fill up port (no cap, spring loaded port)
BBS RK wheels in staggered fitment (18X8 up front 18X10 in rear)

Some of the the things I've noticed that I'm going to have to address:

- CEL - I haven't tried to pull the code yet, the car runs perfectly so I'm thinking this is tune related
- Low coolant light - I'll check the fluid level, but this is my first experience with Vortech aftercoolers, the car does not run hot whatsoever, so it could also be a sensor
- ABS light - It was on solidly last night when I moved it into the garage, but wasn't on before. I'm also wondering if this is tune-related before I dig deeper

The condition of the body/paint/interior is probably around 8-9/10, this was a well cared-for car. I'm also apparently the second owner. I'm hoping the few sensors turn out to be minor things.

Any insight on the flip chip would be greatly appreciated. This switch is hanging in the glove box along with another box, looks like something maybe to control the shift light (from Accel)

I'm also interested in getting the car tuned with something more modern, maybe even converting to E85. The car will be a very limited-use toy for me, joining my two other Mustangs ('16 GT350, '04 Mystichrome Conv)

Thanks in advance! I'll post pix soon...
Congrats on securing both color-changing Cobras! It’s neat having them in the same collection.

Here’s to good luck sorting though your issues and enjoying the car!

Thanks all..

I'm really happy to have both for sure. I'm also in no hurry to do anything major. It's a really clean, solid car and I don't think it's in any imminent danger engine wise. I wont be driving it hard anyway.

I'll start with the small stuff (ordered about 200 bucks worth of parts from LMR and CJPP on day one lol).

I'm also working on a long recovery for a recent shoulder surgery and won't be driving it much in the next few months anyhow.

It's a marathon, not a sprint. Most likely this year will be focused on shows and whatnot. She needs a little bit of paint correction too, some cracking in the clearcoat for example, would need to be addressed first and foremost. This is a good time to get that knocked out.

Anyone here have any info on the Diablo Flip Chips? Looking to know if there is any way to read them, understand what tunes are on it, etc.

I've been asking around on Diablo's own forum but so far, no luck....

I used to have one before I went stand alone. I'm pretty sure you need a cable from the chip to the computer. From there you download the diablo software and you can pull it from there.

I'll look for one. The car came with a lot of documentation, including the supercharger install manuals but this chip was the only thing there wasn't any info on...
I'd like to just remove it but I have no idea what that would do.

For now I'm just going to have to take it easy with the car until I can get it dyno tuned. I'll say this, it runs great...feels really solid as is.

i would not remove the chip, just be easy on it until you can get it in for a dyno tune using a new handheld then pull it (i mean, you could always have it put on the dyno with a wideband in the midpipe and if everything looks good leave it alone)
