Advice for some mufflers with no drone

Straight thru does not limit flow.


But it does effectively reduce the noise level at lower throttle positions. It was the only solution that worked for me without staying with OEM. Like I mentioned the 2 3/4" exhaust is going to be loder than its 2 1/2" counterpart.

Yup, but what your asking for is not possible imo. Corsa's are probably the most tame mufflers out there. I would just stick with oem. Anything else will be louder and obnoxious... I mean, its a GT500...not electric...

I dont mind louder. I just dont want to want to kill myself because of drone. As much as I don't want obnoxious, I guess as long as its not bad in the car I am fine. My neibors and traffic behind me can deal I guess. lol
So its not possible to not be obnoxious with a free flowing pre muffler setup without having stock mufflers?

Went with a Magnaflow 3" resonated X to kill my drone and rasp.

The 15 for me but I would have assumed they had an application for you as well. Any name brand resonated X would kill the drone and rasp. I was running longtube no cats and Magnaflow Comps and the drone and rasp was horrible. Didn't even want to drive the car. This fixed the issue...plenty of flow for the supercharge and the sound is much better. Did you look at other brands?

I have not yet. I am in the situation of loving the sound when I am above 2100 rpm or below 1600. WOT is FANTASTIC, but the drone from 1600-2100 is TERRIBLE. My girl has very sensitive hearing (I am half deaf), and I know that if we go on a long ride, she is hating the set-up right now. I am going to need to do something here shortly. Was thinking of installing the Vibrant ultra quiet resonator someone mentioned earlier in the thread. Hadn't seen that resonator x-pipe set-up until you mentioned it. Haven't looked at other manufacturers.

Did you watch the video I sent you. GT500 with Corsa Sports, LT headers and high flow cats. No drone... Watch the end, cruising with no drone.

.i still think this is a little tame because of the cats.

When Corsa first made a muffler for the 05+ mustang they only had one kind. There was no touring/sport/extreme. I don’t know what kind mine would compare to but it is probably comparable to the sport I would think. Anyway on a stock exhaust it sounded great.

When I went to an offroad setup........ let’s just say the corsas only stayed on for about 2 months before I put the stock mufflers back on. Lol. It was just deafening loud at full throttle and really loud at any other throttle inputs. On the plus side there was no drone.

I am kinda in same boat as you. My stockers sound good (not great though)and keep it from being obnoxious loud, but I been thinking I want a lil more bite. I think if I bust a move it will be with borla touring from everything I read.

I got one video of it on the Dyno but I can’t get it to upload. The video don’t do it justice, it was literally hurting my hearing making the video lol.

The one thing I want to add is that it at cruising speeds, it was somewhat tolerable, but any kind of throttle input and it would let you know it was there

I heard AWE is great as well, but looks like they only make 11+ systems

How does it actually sound driving though? Any drone?

Yup it’s a 40th, it’s sounds very good not to loud at cruising speed 70 to 80 mph but it comes on once you hammer the go paddle but all in all the setup work very well.

I'd love to hear what it sounds like under normal driving. I thought those things were chambered. The thing that scares me with chambered mufflers is blowing baffles out.
Im making a bit of steam and will be WOT shifting this thing.
