Hello everyone,

So they pushed my 03 Cobra 60k miles out of the driveway and pushed it around the corner. Wi fi jammers for the cameras on all the neighbors houses. U can see them scope it out and then u see it gone but nothing in between. Neighbor's camera down the street picked them up pushing it around the corner and messing with it for a while then starting it and leaving. They had the thing to open the door and bypass by factory alarm. They had a key and the RFid chip mimic device as well. I believe security was an inside man. I also believe I was targeted because there are many other cars to steal here if you have all that technology. There's apparently a group of thieves going in the area (Hollywood, FL)[South Florida Broward/Dade Counties]. No theft insurance like an idiot because its been there parked as a daily for 8 or more years.

So, now that these animals stole my car and I have kind of gotten over it, I figure I let everyone on here know, as well as open it up to everyone's opinion of now what do I buy to replace a daily. I'm a professional mechanic and own an auto repair shop that I work as mobile, all the licenses and permits/insurances and all that so I drive that most of the time. I'm also saving to buy a house so I don't want to spend more than 10k MAX MAX.

My ideas and feel free to roast: I just want a comfortable daily now, but I can't really drive a corolla either. I was looking at 2010 Mercedes E350's which seem to be in that price range. I have also considered a WRX which is less money and fun to mess around in.

Essentially, I'm going to go to the auction to find whatever it is I decide on and just wait until it turns up to avoid getting ripped off at dealers.

What do u guys think?

Just proves that the only thing that'll keep pro's from stealing your shit is you in a lawn chair with a shotty guarding your shit.

Buy an RS5, CTS-V, or a MB AMG. Luxury muscle is pretty awesome.

Sorry to hear about the Cobra. SoFla is notorious for Cobras being stolen. A shop out in Hialeah was suspected for a majority of the thefts.

Sorry for your loss, that really sucks. Tough to go wrong with a Benz, they can be a pretty sweet ride if you can get one for the right price, odds are it wouldn't have been beat to death by some 20 something.

Why would you leave a car like that in the driveway and not in the garage blocked in by another vehicle?

Plus all this rfid, bypass stuff you’re saying...sorry if I don’t buy the cup of tea you’re trying to make everyone swallow.

I always thought theft coverage was apart of full coverage insurance... interesting.

I think it's a good time to just suck it up and go with something simple. You're not going to get much of a car for 10k and going with a 10 year old mercedes doesn't seem like a wise choice (unless you are super handy) when you're trying to save money for a house and all the expenses that come from that. Okay, maybe not a corolla, but a V6 Camry/Accord (there are a few with manual transmissions) would be a pretty nice and reliable car to cruise around in for a few years. It'll hold it's value and you can upgrade after you get a house and finances in order.

It's not fancy technology. I have a $100 cloned Ford vcm tool that can program any Ford key. All it takes is waiting for the 10 minute security timeout to expire before you can program. I imagine that's what they were doing around the corner.

Sounds like you drove your broken cobra into a lake...and came up with this story.

just sayin’

He said that he doesn't have coverage....

Sorry to hear about your loss. My Camaro was stolen in 2018. Even with theft coverage it took 10 months to get sorted. And not without a lengthy fight.

Lots of people will question the loss but you did nothing wrong.

I recommend an older F-150.

I had an Expedition stolen a couple years ago. Crazy thing is my wife and I were talking about dropping the insurance to liability just weeks before it happened, I just never got around to it.

Sorry to hear your Cobra was stolen. That really sucks. What really got my attention, though, was your comment that your WiFi and the WiFi s in your neighborhood were jammed by the thieves. I'm having security cameras installed this morning. I'm going to have to ask the installer about this. Sounds like it is too easy to jam or blur a network.

I hope you find a replacement car that you're going to be happy with.

Someone stole your property? I hope they die in a horrible manner. No joking. People like that don't deserve to breathe air. No respect for other's property? To me that equals no respect for your own life. Anyway......
