So screwing around with my x4 and all the features it offers I was wondering if setting it up to read both my boost and afr are worth it over just buying a wide band and boost gauge. I have the boost gauge but may not use it just because I don't like having the car covered with gauges. AFR is definitely a must, no question.

With that said, if it's not hard to setup through my handheld to read those, what do I need to set it up that way? FYI myself and wiring don't mesh well, so if its a easy/cheap job to do I would like to go down that path.

I think you monitor 4 or maybe 6 parameters on one screen. Buy a mount and cord if you need it. Take it down when parked to lessen the temp to steal.
Probably pretty good numbers on AFR, do not know about boost. Manual boost gauge, but I do not see the need, unless you are hardcore racer.

Pretty pointless to rely on the stock narrowband sensors for AFR on your X4, imo. They're so inaccurate, especially on a boosted application. You're way better off with a wideband.

Also not sure how you're intending to read boost with it when the X4 plugs into the OBD2 port and there is no MAP sensor wired into the factory computer.

I bought a Lund Racing boost box from AM. About $87 shipped and will display boost/vacuum on an X4

nothing can display wideband or boost on that car natively. You would need gauges that have the extra wire to run to a fire that would also be plugged into the X4
