Starter wiring

Evening everyone

Well my coyote swap has hit its first wall.
Engine will not turn over with the key.

when you turn the key on everything else works and self checks ok. (Abs, pats, radio, ect...)
The engine just will not turn over with the key, I can jump it at the 1 wire breakout plug by the battery and it turns over.
Swapped relays in PDB, jumped the clutch safety switch, and most normal mustang stuff I have seen or dealt with in the past.

back story of the car was engine was damaged before I got it. I started it and pulled it into the shop and removed the old engine for the coyote swap. All harnesses were unplugged and reused except engine 42 pin harness (depinned everything except oil switch, coolant temp, ac clutch and ground) everything else is in the car.

What wire off the ign switch do I need to probe to check for power under starting?

anything else anyone can point out to me to check?

thanks in advance

This is a pretty far down in the weeds suggestion, but it sounds like you've covered your bases with most of the rest of it. Do you have the reverse light switch wired for the transmission? That completes a circuit that if left unplugged will prevent the car from starting, under normal circumstances anyway. Coyote swaps are outside my realm of experience.

Yes trans harness is reconnected to the reverse and speed sensor, all rear O2 wires were depinned.
I started some probing today.
I’m getting signal at the clutch switch but nothing back at the anti theft module in the trunk. I’m about to just bypass it.
But I really want to try and keep the factory keyless working

Ok I didn’t pay attention. Turns out on manual trans harness there is a looped wire, for starter relay excite.
Pinned it back in and now starts with key.

I appreciate you following up on this thread and filling everyone in on what the issue was.

Ironically I've been trying to locate a diagram to figure out what that looped wire was for as I'm pairing down the transmission and CCRM harnesses quite heavily.
