Sounds like you are making excuses. If it’s too cold or hot out you leave the top up and turn on the heat or AC like any other car.

Trade in the Cobra and buy the Bullitt if you want it. It’s your money. There is no sound reason to do so other than a want. Which is ok as long as you can live with it.

maybe it's just me but I never saw the hype with Bullitt's
If you were trading it for a GT500,350 C6,C7 then maybe I'd say go for it.
Doesn't sound like you're financially strapped, I'd personally figure out a way to get the best of both worlds, which is the boat I'm in now also.
these 03-04's are getting harder and harder to find as the years pass. One day you'll wish you kept it.
In a few more months the prices of cars are going to drop tremendously so you could be primed to get an addition to the stable at a good deal.

I'm 6'4", so driving the car with the top up is not the most enjoyable thing ever. Headroom in a vert with top up is not the same headroom you have in a coupe; at least in my experience. Most certainly moving to a Gen 3 coyote car is a want, and you're spot on that I'm now trying to figure out if I can live with letting the Cobra go to scratch the itch.

I thought about it many times with my 84. Which is why I bought the Cobra. Newer, more refined, AC and the wife likes the New Edge Mustang . I could never pull the trigger on a new one. Took a few for test drives but just couldn’t justify spending that kind of money on a summer car.

Alright, well it's final. The Cobra is staying with me for at least another driving season. Might head on over to LethalPerformance and see what I can buy that might encourage me to drive it more in the coming months.

That's cool, hope it works out for you. Don't think about the new car too much, it'll drive you crazy! Good luck and enjoy your Cobra!

If ur not driving ur car ur not really into ur car...... time to move on to something else or modify the one u have. But if u don't drive ur cars very often then maybe u should find a new toy other than a car.

Sitting in the garage collecting dust putting a 1000 miles on ur car is kinda useless especially since cars depreciate so fast. If it was an exotic or classic that would make sense. Otherwise, kind of a waste imo. Either find a car that really tickles ur fancy or find another toy.

The Bullet is so-so. Nothing special. Don't buy it cause its a great deal! Buy it cause ur in LOVE with it!

So why are you in a rush to get a new car so quickly? Car sales are down significantly and I am sure there will plenty of them on the lot for months. I would sell your car privately for the price you want and not leave 3-4k on the table.

Yeah, I originally was looking for a C6 Z06, but then I started seeing all the deals on the leftover 19 Mustangs. There weren't a lot of PP1 / 2 cars with options I wanted, but there were plenty of Bullitts left to choose from. Then that got me thinking how it would be nice to have a new car instead of getting into another used one blah blah blah, and the impulse buyer in me took over and it was off to the races calling dealerships and haggling deals.

I think now it's back to the original plan, which is take my time to find the car I want then sell the Cobra private party when the time is right; or if the stars align properly maybe keep it as well. Until then I really do enjoy the car when I have the time for it. After I sold my first Cobra I always swore I'd get another and would never let it go, and that just kept sticking in the back of my mind the last couple days.

I could probably swing it I supposed, but I wouldn't feel great about it. With the economic outlook as it stands I'd like to keep as much loose cash around as possible to take advantage of the down markets. We'll see how things look next spring; maybe I'll be in a better position to swing keeping the Cobra plus a new toy.

No. Do some research.

Get the Bullitt.

Yeah, it really is a nice package. It's sort of a stop-gap between PP1 / PP2 plus you get the GT350 intake. Nice sounding exhaust for a stock car too. How much I like the car is not what stopped me in the end though.

I wouldn't say that I'm not into my Cobra. Every time I drive it does bring a smile to my face. It's just that life gets in the way of enjoying it like I used to. I'm going to give it some time and maybe see what next year brings in terms of finding a new toy. Again, maybe later down the road I'll be in a better position to keep the Cobra along with a new purchase.

You are probably right though, a lot of the Bullitt impulse was because of the great deal I was going to get.

There are some nice performance sedans these days. It'll allow you to take the family with you and put on some more miles. I'd hope to put on at least 5k miles a year on it.

I don't think I would buy a new one as it'll (likely) be treated as a garage queen similar to your cobra. Get a nice used one and *drive* it for a few years (especially if you put on so few miles), sell it without taking too much of a hit, get another one one with some more technology, rinse and repeat.
