Happy dyno, not real, gunna get "smoked" on the street.

This platform is damn impressive to me, don't care who you are. Expecting to see some crazy times at the track in the fall once there is some more time with the trans. Blows my mind when breaking into the low 11 high 10s in a street car was the shit.

Hopefully all the ones around here stay stock so I have a chance on the street

Yes it is very impressive for sure, and not even touching the s/c pulley is astonishing. Plans for my car are similar to this minus the porting.

they listed a griptec pulley and even said it was probably too small of a pulley.

impressive as hell either way, it'll be interesting to see how the cars are performing/living in another 6 months or so as they figure out this DCT

Gotta say I'm envious of the 2020 GT-500 owners here. The potential at a minimal cost for upgrades is astounding. It's one badass car, drawing a ton of attention, and rightfully so. I'd love to test drive one some day.

All this talk of “platform”.

Enough of that crap.

For years, the snooty gt500 crowd has willingly distanced themselves from the Coyote being their cars were “special” with a “big block (lol)” 5.4 or 8.

In 2020 the 500 finally gets a mustang motor on steroids and all of the sudden it’s the “platform” that’s so bad ass.

Meh.

Coyote has been putting in 1000whp work since 2011.

Where you guys been?

EDIT: this is NOT directed at OP who is a true class act!

The blower is ported and pullied and on e85, exhaust, etc etc. This is damn near max effort bolt on car.

The way I worded it was wrong, I was meaning in general like I will be doing to my car is not touching the s/c pulley or even porting mine. But yes it is pretty close to full bolt on which I am sure can hit 1100whp if it is really pushed in the tuning. I think Coastal wants to wait in regards to the dct tuning.

that car has intake, 105tb, ported blower, 2.4 ( +4psi) upper, headers, catless, ID1300s, 2x BAP. I dont recall if they did the lower pulley.

I know the cars on ID1050x's and stock pumps ect are out of fuel in the 950 range.

Not a fan of that dyno, the pulls take way too long, meaning i think they have an exxagerated car weight put in to bump the #s

Only one way to tell, let’s see that trap mph.

Man I can’t wait til DCT tuning is unlocked.
I’m sick of seeing the ‘launch control’ where the car basically falls on its face, bogs and gradually comes on, like a rookie stick driver on street tires.
Gotta lose close to a full second in these big power cars.
Plus I’m sure it’s holding back cars from the roll too.
Torque management may save the trans, but I know it kills performance even in the auto 6R/10R cars.
Someone has gotta be willing to say ‘F it’ and push the DCT to the max eventually. A new unit is $15-20k, but ideally we will see rebuild/upgrade options like other crazy power DCT platforms (GTR, UGR Lamborghini/Audi).
I’m really ready to find a car like LostM to play with my 1000rwhp manual ‘14 GT500 this year. Should be a lot of fun, especially how these 315/50/17 MT ETRs hook.

I asked for this. they hit the strip the day after, friend was there but boards were off.. "it didnt beat Lee's run" meaning "tang stang" and whatever he ran last, 9.x 145(?) not wht i expect for hundreds more HP

this is why i was pushing for people to post some 60-130s.. a certain other tuner claims he doesnt have a dragy, yet we're in the same streetrace group and ive seen his personal cars times. odd he wouldnt have that hooked up for the WR runs.

the other shops, vmp coastal ect.. refuse to show anything.. if tracks were open, id have definitive proof, but to run 4.x 60-13s, you got to be moving

if we were local, id be down to run.

Me too, buddy would be fun.
I’m going to get a draggy and fire up the Go Pro this year.
I’ll save the drag strip launches for fall, because, well racing breaks shit and I don’t want the car down this year :)
Looking forward to seeing your results.

Seems kinda quiet in here, surprised nobody linked Evan Smith’s new vid with Sam from Costal Dyno and his sweet TO GT500:

This platform is killer, can’t wait to see what trans tuning does!

Great post! It seems on this section you're not allowed to say anything positive about the 2020+ cars without the resident troll showing up to run his mouth. If he were banned from posting in this section there would be an immediate pick up in interactions.

While the barrier to entry has gotten pretty high on this car it's pretty clear that the engine is very under-stressed from the factory. It runs a paltry 12-psi on that 2650.

Accurate on all. AND, its still punching above its weight class

Yes, on a 9.5:1 5.2L motor that TVS2650 is just chilling at 12psi.
I’d prefer 18-20psi :)
-J

got that whipple tensioner on.. car is seeing 20 psi now. my combo is literal perfection for a street car. headers, more fuel and 2-3 more psi and im done done
