I just had a random thought and was curious am I about the only person that still uses a clock radio/alarm clock instead of using their phone?

I would guess most people use their smart phones today for wake ups. Since I have not worked since 2014 and retired I get to use natures alarm clock.......when I wake up........lol.

I have a sunrise alarm clock. It's been a game changer for my morning routine. I'm a night owl. I don't even bother setting an alarm on my phone anymore. I wake up gradually over 15-20 minutes. It is so much nicer than the abrupt wake-up a-la the Groundhog Day gif posted above.

Still do, though it almost never wakes me up. Once last year??? I am awake every morning at 4 AM, regardless of what I am doing.

My daughter still has a clock. But I think she uses her phone for an alarm. The last clock we had in our bedroom ended up in the front yard around 2am one night. It was one of those that set automatically to the atomic clock or whatever. Apparently it decided to set the time for whatever it wanted and the last time the alarm went off at 2am my wife tossed it out the front door.

I only need one a handful of times per year (to wake up for early flights) but when I do I use my phone.

I use my phone. When I work, I wake up at a different time in a different timezone every day. I'd use hotel wakeup calls, but they always confuse the hell out of me. I just wish you could set the iPhone alarm to use a gradually ascending volume for the alarm. I had a Nokia that did that in 2005 and it was the best alarm I ever had.

I still use a traditional style alarm clock, ours projects the time on the ceiling so we can both see what time it is.

If you use the iPhone stock 'Bedtime' app, located in the factory 'clock' app, you can set a nice slow ascending volume alarm. It was a game changer when my daughter was born and sleeping in our room in her bassinet.

Been using the same alarm clock I have had since the mid 90's. If it works, why change?

Interesting I didn't even know this was a thing. I'm not so sure the gradual would work for me, I'm such a heavy sleeper I almost have to be scared but a sudden loud alarm to wake my ass up. Usually its my wife forcing me to get up because I've snoozed and slept through all 3 alarms on my phone and never knew it. I will see screenshots saved in my phone of my alarm clock screen from me squeezing buttons until it stops making noise only to capture screen shots over and over lol
