Hey all, thanks for the help. I read the write up and did everything listed.

Except, my T-stat doesn't open until around 190ish only when driving. Sitting at idle it will not go past normal operating temps (175). Heat was on, car is on a incline and I'm giving it a generous amount of revs. After doing this a few times the car started running better, no high temps.

Is there a way I can get the t-stat to open and get the rest of the blockage out?

Thank you!

What blockage are you referring to? What is is the temp of the t-stat? If it's 190 it's never going to open sooner. You'll need a cooler rated stat for that. How are you reading the temps?

Leave the heat off, all the heat setting does is change the AC blend door position, coolant circulates through the heater core regardless and make it hard to get up to temp as you're experiencing.

"blockage" as in air, i'm assuming that's in the radiator. I'm going by my pillar gauge.

I'll try again with the heat off and see if I can get the tstat to open all the way. Thank you.
