I got a 13 gt500 last year and it's certainly a beast of a car, but there are a few compromises.

If your going to mod you need to run drag radials. Heck I run them on my stock car and they spin at times. (MT SS).

In stock form I find it kinda boring. It's deceivingly fast and the long gears take some getting used to. Then again most stock cars a a bit boring. Seems like simple bolt ons will get you 700rwhp reliably. Which I have waiting to go on.

Gt350 seems fun out of the box, but that engine seems like it's a ticking time bomb. Like the ls7 in the c6z. Only reason I went with the 500 over the 350. That and they made 15- 20k plus gt350s.

I'd be scared to mod a voodoo. If you want a big power fast car I'd go 18+gt 10r80 car.

We talked the other night, 13/14 all the way. I really wish ford would have kept the 13/14 face and just changed the rear out, that would have been a perfect car!

Why even ask this question to a bunch of strangers? Lol

What do you like? Do you want a highway / drag strip monster or do you want a corner / road course carver?

it is that simple.

If you still can’t decide, which one of them do you like better aesthetically?

As a previous 14 GT500 owner, as well as having had seat time in a GT350, I would advise you to buy neither. Go look at ZL1s, as it is the best combination of BOTH (500 and 350). This is unless you are brand biased or dislike the looks.

P.S: I loved my Trinity car and also the 350 I drove, but they are polar opposite. ZL1 is the combination of both.

well, strangers indeed but we are very like minded people when it comes to cars, who better to ask this question than you and others here? I mean look at you, you have experience with both cars so that’s exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate it.

I do hear those ZL1s are beasts but I have always wanted to own another shelby. I guess I like the name :)

I don’t think I would track the car. Maybe drag strip for fun sometimes and that’s a maybe. Mostly for cruising and feeling the gforce when the mood strikes.

the gt350s with some fat tires almost look like some wide body exotics from behind, or is it me? I feel like they have a better stance.

But then the raw power of GT500 and ability to have a pretty much 9 second car bolts on. That’s impressive.

I appreciate the nice words but everything that I told you is my experience as I perceive it. This is all really subjective.

You should pic the car that blows YOUR mind. Not someone else’s.

From what you state, sounds like you might like the looks of the 350 better (I would agree there), but perhaps you would be happier with the attributes of the Trinity (Gobs of torque/power and easy mod ability).

Find a 350 to test drive and if it doesn't blow your mind, get you a Trinity.

If it was me, I’d probably go with the 350 between the two. The handling on the 350 blew my mind. I don’t need all the herspwers.

this is spot on. Except I would not agree that the 350 motor is a time bomb. Not anymore than the Trinity’s. Plenty of boosted 350s making silly power.

For me it would really come down to what the intended purpose of the car is/would be.

Open track car GT350. Street bruiser GT500.

If you're after exclusivity and want something that isn't seen every day go 13/14 GT500. I see way less of them then GT350s.

For me I'd say no to both and get a 20 GT with the PP2 and a few add ons and be done.

Honestly, Id rather recommend you a 15-17 Mustang GT with the Coyote than a GT350 if you want boosted power in the S550 chassis. Add a 3.0L Whipple kit and fuel system and welcome to 800+ horsepower. Add GT350 Spoiler and you're nearly there.

The 5.0 Coyote is A LOT beefier than the 5.2 VooDoo for boost. Sure, there are guys out there running big boost and fast times on the 5.2, but yoou're asking for a grenade with that flat plane crank. You're playing with fire if you ask me. The VooDoo wants to live at 4000-7000 all day long and makes its peak torque there too. Youll feel very blah about the power delivery compared to a boosted car from stop light to stop light. Take the GT350 to the canyons or a road course and... well... now you're where that car wants to be.

The 13-14 is always going to be highly revered, but like all 03-04 Cobras and 07+ GT500s, its going to get harder and harder to find clean, unmolested and unmodded examples. If you do find them, expect to pay a decent sum.

I was actually seriously considering a 2020 Bullitt before I got the 350.

Only reason I didn’t is you cannot get the bullitt with the PP2 package.

a 2020 GT PP2 would satisfy most people’s needs.

It's really all about personal preference imo but asking people who have owned/driven both is a good place to start. The gt350 is a great car that is very track capable but lacks the low end grunt and power of the gt500. The gt500 even with it's long gearing feels very strong download thanks to its relatively under squared bore and stroke ratio and relatively mild camshaft profiles. A few thousand in mods will take you a long way with the trinity so as long as you run good fuel and keep the rpms low you should be ok for a long time. The gt350 can be boosted but takes some coin to do so. But if you're planning on leaving the gt350 close to stock you will find that the refinement combined with the lack of power will make it really boring really fast. Whereas the punch if the 500 will never get old. If you want something that will give you the best of both worlds a camaro zl1 would be a great choice. The hellcat would also be a great choice as it provides not only has power delivery similarly to the gt500 but also is comfortable and has alot of space as well.

People will be all over the place with their opinions... sometimes it can be a bit misleading to ask a bunch of dudes in the forums. So many will tell you the 350 is “slow” has “no torque”, “boring”. To me, this couldn’t have been farther from the truth. To me, I would get more enjoyment with a 350 everyday, over a Trinity every day. This is from a guy that owned the Trinity and was notorious for roll racing (which the Trinity is much better suited for). You can have much more fun driving the 350 around. Just the feel of the car-it’s like a go kart! It its PLENTY peppy. 11 sec capable car in the 1/4 (if you are a great driver with hero conditions). Plus it looks the sexiest. Trinity is awesome too, but in my opinion it is much less well rounded. And to have fun on it, you are more likely to push the limits of the law with it. I know because I used to do 145-155 on that car regularly (2 shifts). You have to respect the Trinity more. With the 350, you can ravage it on a daily and not worry about getting in as much trouble. Mechanically, both cars are solid, but neither car is perfect. Pick your poison!

another really important thing to consider is, Will you be bullying other cars with it, or just worry about yourself? If you wanna mess other cars up, get the Trinity. If you just wanna mostly enjoy your own, minding your business, then 350.

Without writing a novel, which one would you rather buy as your weekend cruiser, fun car and why. And why wouldn’t you buy the other?
thanks folks

...................GT500
I like the idea of pinning myself in the seat through several gears.
Had your post included a road course from time to time,............the GT350..
And you never mentioned modding the car..

Unless you’re willing to add boost to the 350, definitely the 500 for your stated goals.
I’d take a boosted 350 over the 500 as a street car however.

I totally understand the decision to go with the GT350. To me the new Bullitt is kind of a dud as it doesn't seem to be set apart from the rest of the offerings very well especially when you look at the price tag. One big turn off for me is I don't care for the new paint and for some reason I still love the 01 cars in DHG. Yes I know the new bullitt will destroy the others performance wise but the looks overall just aren't there.

If I were in the market for a new mustang my preferences would be 20 GT PP2, used low mileage GT350, used 19 GT PP2 with the bullitt last and only if I could get a smoking deal.

I just wish Ford would have put the Trinity motor in the S550 back in 2015. They had all the parts and pieces and we could have skipped the FPC completely. I know people at Ford argued for it but sadly lost out to the guy that wanted a Ferrari. :)

For me, GT500. Down low torque/power. Easy to add hp without getting expensive.
Styling of 13/14 still looks aggressive/not outdated to me.

I like the 350 too, but I feel like I won't use it to it's purpose and it'll get boring quicker.

For a weekend cruiser absolutely this.

The car would be fun on a road course when you're pushing its limits for sure but on the street I would look elsewhere. Best thing he can do is drive both and determine which one he likes but with the current situation we are in it isnt quite possible yet.
