Blower dilemma...

So I recently picked up an ultra low mileage 2014 (7 miles). I still have my 2010 GT500 that I bought about 9 years ago with 4k miles on it (has close to 102k now). 6 or so years ago, about bout a KB 2.8 set up for that car, but never installed it. I figured after I did the pullies and stuff, that it was "fast enough" at the time and didn't want to break anything. So the blower has been sitting.

Fast forward to today, and the 2014 is a virgin. It is high miles now (just over 300, lol) but I am torn about which way to go. I am not sure If I should slap that KB 2.8 kit on, and recoup some money from the stock blower that would probably cover the install cost if I am lazy, or buy the XBA inlet and use the KB TB with a pulley. I could maybe get some money for the 2.8 kit w/o the TB, but not sure what at this point since the game has changed a bit.

The car will most likely just be a pump gas car, and probably never see the strip. It will surely have R--comps on it full time shortly, but just so it is more fun and safer to make some hits/pulls when someone feels froggy.

I remember Van made around 750whp on pump with the 3" pulley on a 2.8 and a mid-pipe, and I think that is probably about as far as I would want to take a stock block anyways. It seems I could get there easier with the 2.8, and the lower torque probably won't mean too much to me. I would imagine it will still be fun. Although I may do headers instead of just the mid pipe.

Any thoughts?

Good job on a 7 mile ride. Thought I did good with finding a 13 with 2700 miles.

As far as the blower question, welcome to the club. That's been me since March

I have my thoughts; will reserve my answer for now.
Wanna see what everyone else may say first.

I have mine as well, but since I effectively already own both solutions, it has me thinking more...

I am a money guy as well..which makes it tougher. This is difficult waters if your think about $. I have longed wondered about how much money I would have to not care about another 50k if my (now-ex wife, new wife is way hotter and makes much more money) quite her job, or how much money I would really have to have to enjoy an exotic hot rod. In the grand scheme of things, this is pennies, but I always look to validate or invalidate my thoughts. I lived in "Mexico" back in the day, but now I am 40 with kids. I suppose it happens to the best of us..I am welcome to all opinions.

You know we get used to that stuff ;) The 2014 feels slow to me. It likely has to do with the gearing. My income was different at that time too, so now I might be as worried about breaking something now. I am still not in a rush to buy a short block though.

Sell the 2.8, pick up whipple 2.9 gen 5, or KB 3.6LC.

If the car feels slow time for blower upgrades.

I knew I wasn't the only one who felt like this. Came of a '11 PP w/ Gen2R.
My '13 has Upper Pulley, CAI, 65MM TB, 3:73s, and a conservative tune.
I'm making minor changes; some where in the 2650L -2.9L Range

My 14 GT500 Super Snake came with 700 miles and a 3.6LC KB. My 2012 GT500 has a 2.8LC. I went with KB because of the CARB# and it helps that they’re 15 miles away.

The 3.6LC is $800 more than the 2.8LC on a 14. There’s a big enough difference between the motor and what the supercharger can push. You won’t have future regrets on the supercharger with the 3.6LC, like I did with the 2.8LC. Plus, the 3.6LC will be more efficient and is in the same body as the 3.2LC to 4.7LC.

Keeping this in perspective, you could also spend $200 more and get the 4.2LC or $150ish more for the 4.7LC or $1,000 over the 2.8LC.

Honestly there are not enough feedbacks on the KB 3.2LC, I think it is the perfect fit for these 5.8s being stock. I regrettably went with a 2.8LC to start and decided to get a 3.6. A 2.8 to a 3.2 is better but not 2.8 to 3.6 better. If I had to choose it all over again, a 3.2KB would still be ontop of my 5.8

I think the 3.2LC is a nice option since it shares the case size with the 2.8, but is getting closer to the 3.6 in size and also has much capability. The 3.6LC is also nice, but it is taller and wider so manifold fitment and oem/stock hood clearance need to be kept in mind. Here are the two side-by-side for a comparo.........3.2LC and 3.6LC......

and then the 3.2LC pulley compared to the Super Snake 725/750 standard install 2.8 pulley....
