While that rust alone doesn't justify slaughtering the whole car, the rest of the car probably does.
I have similar rust on my Thunderbird that I'm currently rebuilding. I've cut out half of the frame rails and strut towers and replaced with sheet metal.
The problem is that it isn't just that. It's a little bit here and there. Everywhere.

While completely swapping everything is a hell of a chore, hunting rust can go on forever...

Best of luck!
The GT looks absolutely mint underneath.

Yea the more i took the cobra apart the more rust i found swapping was definitely the way to go. getting the rigidity of a hardtop will also be a benefit.

So got the seat actually installed...then realized even on the lowest setting getting in and out would require a grab bar :(. so back it goes and a more reasonable seat is on its way

got the gas tank coated and back in

then ran into an issue when trying to put the irs back in. car wasnt jacked up high enough for the irs and i only had one floor jack so had to wait until last night

irs is in but still have to hook everything up but i couldnt resist mocking up the big rear brakes and throwing the wheel on

The rear is completely bolted in, coated more of the engine bay, got new pioneer head unit installed(needed apple car play), CDT tweeters mounted to use stock clips so I can take them off easily

Anyone have a suggestion on how to wire the inter cooler pump. Should I just wire To switched ignition or do a 3 way thermostatic switch (on/off/temp)

did you just tap the main harness at the connection?

I used one of those add-a-circuits that replaces your fuse in the fuse box under the dash. Ran that wire to the relays under the hood for the pump and my fans. The power source for the relays is wired right to the 12v power input on the under hood fuse box.

My friend bought a bastardized 99 gt to 03 cobra swap. Had a TR3650 in the car that we swapped for a magnum T56. So trying to figure this out too. Getting no speedo or O2's working. Everything else is working fine as far as I can tell.
Looking over trans harness for a diagram or pictures of a 99 GT harness because the engine harness to trans the pins don't seem to line up. I think the engine harness is either 99 GT or 99 Cobra. ECU is 01 cobra according to the tuner by the numbers on it. No idea what the trans harness is.

Any help on identifying pins on the engine harness so I can repin the trans harness to it?

let me snap a pic of each harness connector tomorrow morning. Im using the 03 engine/trans harness with the 02 gt body harness and was told it should work just fine. Problem is I wont know what problems I have as far as running for a few more weeks. I would think the speedo issue is just do to the sensor or maybe that particular pin not being in the same spot like you said.

Thank you. Can you grab me a pic of both sides of the GT engine to trans connector, so I can see wire colors.

I dont think a 03 cobra harness will work on the GT as the pcm pinouts are different.

I was shocked to see that terminator so rusty and when I saw the rear plate I said, "It all makes sense now!". Anyways, I am glad to see a fellow NJ do a swap like this. If you are on Instagram, my IG is Rambo_Nate. I am looking to terminator swap my 96 GT in the near future. Lastly, I am in process of doing the ATS-V Brembo swap on mine, you like the 6-pot system better?

i plan on upgrading my brakes once everything else is finished on this build. what made you go with the '16 PP brembo kit over the cadillac swap?

i got the calipers pads rotors and lines for 500 and i wanted as big as i could get in an 18" rim. so 15" rotors and 6 pistons was the ticket. Also having my gt350 next to my boss 302 and staring at the brakes.....bigger brakes look better
