Lol I thought it was comical. Hey, hey didn't give the dude a ticket lol. Thats usually how it goes tho. If ur gonna give someone an ear full then they don't get the ticket. U don't get to do both.

Driver is a little bitch for posting but im surprised the Trooper didn't see someone filming. Whatever...... he was unprofessional but the driver was a little shit-head so oh well.

Makes me wonder how many times the cop has gone off on people before.

The trooper escalated the situation. Lost control of himself. This is not what you want in a LEO.

Two of my best friends are cops. Good cops. They maintain control on the job. I've had conversations with them in the past about incidents like this one. One of the friends, in particular, always makes the point of how they must be in control. The Academy teaches you to maintain control. If you can't, you shouldn't be a cop. For sure, the young guy's "policing" actions led to the confrontation, and he was 100% wrong in starting it. But, the cop obviously lost control of himself. He was in and out of a rage. Allegedly at one point when the guy was cuffed, the cop threatened to throw him off a bridge. In the end it's probably better that he was exposed and hopefully gets anger management help. At the very least. As far as the young antagonist, I hope he learned his own lesson.

exactly bob. The kid was also stupid but as a police officer, you still have to conduct yourself in a certain way under certain situations. And like you said, if you can't control yourself, its not the job for you.

I was going to be a cop. Matter of fact, everywhere I go people think I am either a cop, a fire fighter, or some kind of law enforcement. I guess bc of my size and looks. BUT, I decided not to be a new york cop. Im 38 now but in my early twenties, It was bad. My temper was bad lol That is all I am going to say. I calmed down a little but, I knew It wasn't for me bc of that.

That was awesome, hahahahaha, holy shit. I've been there (use to teach 6th grade math), but you have to hold it together.

I don’t know, I’m conflicted. On one hand his behavior was beyond ridiculous, on the other he “let the guy go”. Without any research if what all the LEO said was true, he could have thrown the book at the dude and screwed him up in the long run. He chose not to. The optics are horrible but the outcome is good. Part of me thinks that if this approach was taken in high crime areas it might be beneficial.

It almost seems scripted to me, why did he stay in the frame the whole time. Maybe it just a coincidence but it kinda feels fake.

The whole thing was funny AF. A cop should never lose their cool though. They have an incredible amount of power and as such are held to a higher standard. On the other hand, could have ****ed the guy, but let him go with just an earful.

It’s a wash for me... The embarrassment for both is enough. No harm, no foul.

Not defending anybody here, both were in the wrong. One thing I will say, is these videos of cops that have to deal with asshats all day for mediocre pay, will eventually make these cops give up and no longer do their jobs. Then all the phone recording policing the police idiots will go running when the really bad people start running the show. Their camera phones wont save them then and neither will the cops.

Wow, the cop can't handle one hippie without blowing up? How is he suppose to handle real stress? Perfect reason every cop needs a body cam, for everyone's safety.

If only we could catch him on video pulling YOU over...... You'd probably threaten him with a strongly worded letter to his Sergeant and your Congressman!

lmao would be awesome. I'd pay to see that one. LOLs for daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaays.

...and you're completely wrong. I've gotten out of a ton of tickets with a little bit or respect and a "yes sir" attitude.

How he an officer should handle a idiot:

The video had me smirking from beginning to end. I can empathize with the Trooper. Was he professional? No. Is this how he conducts himself on a regular basis? I don't know. Do you? Perhaps he just got caught having a bad day. From one video, some of you are suggesting that he beats his wife, should be fired and lose his pension, needs anger management training, or should not be in law enforcement. I wonder if you hold yourselves to the same standard. I can't imagine living my life knowing that one bad day at work will label me a wife beater and cost me my job and pension.

I am not defending his actions as appropriate or making excuses for them, but suggesting that there is a broader picture.

There have been days where my head was not in the game and I called in sick. A mental health day, if you will.

Cops are and should be held to a higher standard. Some may receive conflict resolution training. None of which changes the fact that they are human and make mistakes.

Should he get a pass? No. He certainly shouldn't lose his job/pension. Will he be dealt with appropriately? Due to the video being wide spread and public perception, maybe not.

I ran my mouth to an undercover before by mistake. Dude was going 35 in a 45 in the left lane on a 4 lane street holding up traffic. I moved over two lanes and got in front of him. We ended up at the same light and he asked me how far I got. I told him he shouldn't be holding up traffic going slow. We went back and forth before him telling me he was an undercover and put up his lights. I still told him he was in the wrong and I wasn't speeding. Since it was going no where, I told him I was sorry for being rude and he let me go. Cop is clearly wrong in this video, but like all, won't be reprimanded.

If I didn't know any better(or not seen it a thousand times), I would of sworn that was a skit from some super troopers outtake lol.

The dude in the truck with his weird rambling, cussing and pitch of voice. Not to mention the officers lax replies.
