Factory LCA needed

Hi,

This week I let the shop install BMR LCA with poly bushings and relocation brackets and they used the middle hole (car has Eibach Pro springs installed).

The NVH noise is too much for me. I can hear gear whine already at 30mph.

My factory LCA seems to be worn and have some small crack in them. So I won't Install them back.

I have these ones on the first pic, but can't find them anywhere to buy from.

I find the Ford performance LCA on internet, is that same as mine with rubber bushings?

For what it's worth, I found the LCA re-lo bracket to be the source of lots of unpleasant noises, so I removed them. Poly-end LCA alone shouldn't make too much noise, if installed properly.

Or use Delrin bushings. Why are you running relocation brackets?

Have you tried greasing them?
Haven't touched anything since shop installed the parts.

I will however this week or next week check the bolts and torque them to 130 ft/lb.

Do you think it should be enough to use the grease fitting to grease or do I have to remove the LCA and grease the outer side first?

I really don't want to uninstall if it's not necessary.

I forgot to mention that I get squeak noise over bumps also , but only on driver side. I can replicate it by pushing down my trunk. Seems to be quite on passenger side.

Because my car is lowered with Eibach Pro springs and by reading on internet I think it's good to have the relocation brackets. I am not sure if it's needed or not.

Wouldnt it be the same part as off a track pack 5.0?

Vic

Looks like the ones I pulled from my 2014 track pack 5.0
I don’t think I could put them back on with my Ford relo brackets and use any hole other than the bottom....

I recently installed BMR LCA's on my 2010. There is a slight bit of NVH but hardly noticeable. Maybe the relocation brackets are creating the noise? I kept my stock LCA's, they're in decent shape if you're interested but I'd try to remove the relo brackets first to see if that's the source of the noise. I would try a shot or two of grease (gotta use the correct grease) to eliminate the squeaking noise. Just use the grease fittings.

i do it with mine, lube them lca. Running bmr lca & relocation brackets. Super Lube Grease is what BMR recommends.

How would the relo bracket add any NVH? The stock mount is a solid metal mount. The relo bracket essentially just extends the existing metal mount.

I used relo brackets (CHE) with my GT Track-Pack LCAs with no added NVH.

Went with BMR bolt-in relo brackets and added noticeably more NVH. Tried re-adjusting, torquing bolts, etc and could never dial it in. Almost seemed like there was still some flex/pivoting/movement under load. Didn't notice any benefit to having them on the street or road course, so i ditched them. NVH returned to "normal" levels after I removed them.

So your using only the BMR LCA right now?

Is your car lowered?

I took my car on lift guys today and greased the fittings on both sides. Also greased bmr panhardbar and torqued the bolt on driver side , because they have removed it I think to install the brackets.

But the BMR LCA bolts are not 18mm lol and that's what I thought. Biggestet socket I had with me was up to 19 mm.

What size are the bolts? I want to torque them next time when car is up on lift again.

I’m lowered on FRPP springs and no relocation brackets. They seem to create more issues than they fix and there were failures.

CHE were good. But most of the others seem to have issues for the 1st few revisions

I have a set of BMR relocation brackets, uninstalled. On Eibach Pro Kit springs. My LCAs are not parallel to the ground. I bought the relos, because they claim it helps with traction. Can people confirm that they do not improve traction? That is the main reason I bought them. If all they do is create noise, and don't help with traction, I won't go through the hassle of installing them them.

Thanks!

They do improve traction, if they need to be adjusted. For a DD it would not matter much. For track it makes a difference.

It may improve your ride quality too. Especially over bumps.

In addition, at least with stock LCAs, on full compression the LCAs, due to their curved design, may be hitting the body. The attached pics are what mine looked like before installing the CHE brackets.

The NVH noise is too much for me. I can hear gear whine already at 30mph.

Were axle damper weights previously installed, but not reinstalled when your LCA relocation brackets were installed? That is really the only scenario that I can see that might produce a noticeable change in NVH, assuming everything is installed, greased, and torqued properly. Back when I had a full poly bushing rear end, my suspension was smooth and quiet, and it offered the best ride quality with precise articulation. At one time Kelly @ BMR recommended AMSOIL Synthetic Truck Grease NLGI #2 for their poly bushings, which I still use without issue. I only recently switched to adjustable LCAs with spherical rod ends to better dial in rear suspension geometry.

Went with BMR bolt-in relo brackets and added noticeably more NVH. Tried re-adjusting, torquing bolts, etc and could never dial it in. Almost seemed like there was still some flex/pivoting/movement under load.

BMR’s original 2-hole LCA relo bracket design did shift under high load causing a loud “clunk”… for my car it was only during a drag strip launch with drag radials, otherwise it was fine. The newer 3-hole design should not shift under load if torqued properly. Maximum Motorsports bolt-on brackets do not shift.
