They all screw you in FL. Worst scam I've seen. I use american integrity and they have the lowest rates I can find, but they are still expensive. I use great florida as the company to find them.

Get a insurance agent and let them shop it for you. If you just stick with one, they'll keep upping the rates.

This is true with anywhere. We change insurance companies about every 5 years, just did it a few months ago and saved $900 combined on our home and auto for yearly coverage.

this. State of FL approved a rate increase for this year. In 2018 mine was 21xx, switched companies and got it to 16xx, after the state approved increase im back 21xx.

I think State Farm is one of the better companies to deal with. They may not be the cheapest, but if you combine auto/home/life etc you get multi line discounts. Most importantly should you need to file a claim, they have been pretty good to deal with. Hurricanes are a reality here, not if but when.

Except during the 2005 hurricanes. They disappeared on their customers. Ask me how I know.

From coworkers who all own homes, I hear you have to switch every other year to save money and get a better rate and if you don't, your company will just increase rates. There's no real winning, in terms of home insurance here in FL it seems.

No state income tax though! :)
