There’s one dealer asking $40,000 ADM for a non-CFTP car. Olympia Ford here in FL.

As an enthusiast and Ford "supporter" it leaves a bitter taste.

It retailed from FP for around $1,000 before the part was removed from their shelves. Here's the best you can do today. Note the list price...

Even at $1,900, that is over $1,000 more than what I paid in 2016 for the exact same part from a FP warehouse distributor (Buyfordracing). You now have two Mustangs using the part, either the GT350R or the CFTP GT500. Economies of scale usually bring the price down. Not in Ford's world apparently.

Save $1003.72?
OUCH!

That just makes you angry. Wait years for the car to be this good and it gets held hostage. When you complain you hear the supply/demand argument, the dealer can charge whatever they want argument, blah, blah, blah. Mustang sales numbers continue to dwindle and what do we get? An electric buttplug "Mustang" SUV. Why the **** is it so hard to sell an LX version of the Shelby with all the hardware, no name plastered everywhere, and at a better price? A rhetorical question I've asked since the Fox years. Volume baby. Not this boutique, held for hostage bullshit.

My only middle finger to Ford is the fact that dealers such as Nick exist. Without guys like him my money goes elsewhere.

Yup, long gone are the pony car days. They'd sell more cars and the aftermarket would flourish.

Exactly. It's so frustrating you can't just walk in and pay the MSRP. I understand the whole "pay to play," but no, I just want to buy the damn car for what Ford is suggesting it should be sold for! LOL

I think Ford will be out of the Car market entirely in a couple years. Mustang sells declining is interesting. Will make it easier for Ford to pull the plug entirely and focus on SUVs and Pickups.

Sales are declining because they are overpriced to begin with and they let the dealers mark them up.

Am I the only one that thinks this no more car sales tactic has hurt the only car they sell, the mustang? Why would people who want a vehicle that is lower to the ground, cheaper, more fuel efficient look at anything ford sells since matter of fact they in no uncertain terms said they are not selling cars anymore?
While Toyota Honda Mercedes bmw Dodge dell millions of these units each year Ford has simply stated no to that Multi-billion dollar line.

Add to that the dealers asking $100k adm on a normal gt500 it’s not hard to see why people are looking elsewhere when they need a new vehicle!

nah. 100k mrsp for basically a 2014 GT500 with a 2.6L blower and an auto transmission is a big no bueno for this guy. There are much better options for much less money out there. I kinda think the guys who buy these are suckers, no different than the guys paying 10-20k adms for the 2007 GT500.

The 20 destroys the 13/14 in every category. It even keeps up/competes with the zr1(I meant to say c7 z06, its still a bit behind the zr1) on track! If you can get one for msrp it’s a hell of a drivers car.

I have bought my last new Ford, as far as I am concerned, they have priced their products way too high. The 2020 GT500 is nice but no where near as nice as the price says it should be. There is no way in hell I would ever pay a dealer ADM on anything. I have walked on a couple of deals because of ADM over the years. There isn’t a new car on the market that is worth ADM especially when it deprecates to under MSRP the minute I sign the paper work The price on the C8 corvette base model for the 2021 MY will still be under 60k according to the advertising i’ve seen, Hellcats are still a decent price, Dodge 1500 pickups are way cheaper than an F150 with about the same options.

That's ignoring the S550's advantages over the S197. The S197 had the classic muscle look that many guys really preferred, and that can be a real advantage if that's your thing. But that's nearly where it stops. Some Ford Exec axed an IRS in S197 because it would cost too much. But let's look at everything else. Interior? Outdated. Chassis rigidity? Not as good. Clearance for wide tires? Inadequate. Oil pump gears? Marginal. Connecting Rods? Marginal. Rear brakes? Lol. But one other major upside is that it offered the glass roof option and if you like cruising at all it makes a huge difference in opening up the interior. The new cars have such a long list of chassis and tech improvements alone that it's not even a comparison.

See I personally think two of Ford’s biggest mistakes with this new GT500 are the delay in getting it to market and their pricing.

Back in 07 when the GT500 first appeared they were the only game in town offering what they were offering.

It’s a different ballgame these days. There are other superb offerings (in their own right) available at more tolerable prices.

Is the new GT500 a hell of a car.....without question. But it’s a much harder sell to the average consumer when you’ve got redeyes out there (with tremendous curb appeal) at considerably lower prices and ZL1’s (with tremendous track appeal) also priced far below what you can grab a GT500 for.

This isn’t meant to take anything away from the new GT500 but it is reality.
