This is insane! What'd he think - that he'd get a pass because he's old? NONSENSE! If this was the old East Germany, the cops would have pushed him down, walked past him THEN threw him in a gulag!

The police union will come to their rescue I'm sure, and say they did nothing wrong!

10 to 1 he won't do that again. This ain't the 60's when he was in his 20's. The good old days are gone.

The two officers involved were disciplined and the entire response unit resigned those duties in protest and went back to patrol.

Damn, his kids or grand kids will enjoy the payout the city is going pay to that old man.

Its a terrible look for the cops, regardless of the old man's intentions.

Not sure what happened prior in general at that area or what was said but personally I think that was excessive.
Probably will be a lawsuit too against the city

What’s funny, is all the people in here would’ve done the same thing if someone approached you like that in the grocery store.

Additionally, there is ZERO argument from the old man that “I didn’t know”.

Guess he wanted to test the limits.

Well, he found them.

I'd be curious to know how many people who condemn this have ever been in a formation and know how formations work?

Is it brutal? At face value, yes. But I'm pretty sure it is common sense that you don't break a line because that is the whole point of it to begin with. If an old man can break a line then what is the point of a line to begin with? Old people would become the line's ultimate weakness and flaw.

I said in another thread that they need to avoid things like this for optics but after reading more about it I'm starting to care less and less. They could have avoided it but they were following orders from the commander.
