When Honda wants $1500 for a 50cc dirt bike, you call China!

You are going the right route for a kid just looking to have some fun. The KTM 50 SX is for the kid that is on a career path.

Here’s the definition of criminal!

Here's why the ktm 50 sx is selling for $4500. If my kid was sailing a dirtbike through the air at these heights, and able to ride this aggressively,(s)he'd be on the known quality bike:

Sorry to hear about your sons experience with that Honda! Not the first ive heard of it happening. Crazy to think Honda pulls that crap on warranty stuff! I've been noticing the last 10-15 years that Honda quality has steadily gone down. I'd put Yamaha ahead of them not only for innovation but also quality. The honda motorcycle division is a pretty big blunder at this point minus the new the Goldwing (which are not selling).

Very happy with my decision gang. More money to put toward my Audi R8 V10 this spring! lol

Smart again on the fund for the R8! But as for Honda being a big blunder...I don't think that's anywhere close to the truth. You are absolutely right, the quality of the honda powersports division was leaps and bounds above all of the others 10 -15 years ago, the problem is now they have all caught up.

Those little KTM 50 race bikes are bad ass. That's what my cousin started on. It was an old bike with an auto (no idea how many gears), it was very much a dog in first and almost never shifted to second gear.

The first time it did shift to second, I wasn't ready for it, it drops the RPM right on the pipe and it ran out from underneath me. I think I was like 13 or something and it just left me sitting on the ground.

So now that you've had these for a while, what's your review on these bikes? How are they holding up?

I just ordered a 110cc 4 wheeler for my daughter...
Coolster 110cc Kids ATV *ETA 6/9 PRE-ORDER NOW!

definetly not Honda reliability but nothing is complain about. Here’s the list so far...

They have all had flat tires. That was fixed by getting decent inner tubes that were not ballon thin. Lol.

spark plug failed on one. Easy fix.

Solenoid on one. Easy fix.

you can get almost all parts on amazon for less than 10 bucks. Even new carbs are around that price.

overall, I’ve been very happy with them.

Awesome, I figured they were decent from what I've read.

Good bargain in the short run. Long term supporting CCP is a bad move.

I don't mind spending the money on a name brand 4 wheeler when she is a little bigger and will have it for more than a few years. I have a Honda 650 Rincon for myself, I figure she'll be ready for a Rancher in about 4-5 years.

Update post. The Honda 50 we bought 5 years ago entertained two boys. The youngest is now ready for the 110. Thing is we can't find any on the east coast till July. We put the 50 up for sale and it looks like we have that sold for $1100. Didn't really cost much except oil change and throttle cable. They hold there value if they are not beat up and left outside. I hear you. I had a PW50 lined up for my daughter, but she wants a 4 wheeler, because that's what I ride and that's all she knows. Our 40 acres of trails are also very rocky, i'm not sure how she'd do on 2 wheels. If only mini Honda/Yamaha 4 wheelers were as readily available as mini bikes, i'd definitely get her one.

Found out today that the quad I ordered did not come in, could be two weeks, maybe longer. Could be a sign...

Change of plans...

Cancelled the Coolster order and picked up this Suzuki LT80 a couple days ago. Needs a new fuel line, battery, and maybe a carb cleaning/rebuild and a good once over and she’ll be good to go.

That's great! The supply chains are all screwed up. We lucked out and found the 110 on craigslist 2020 with 5 hours on it and a support upgrade for $2200. The thing has electric, but the kid insists on kick starting.

Nice find!

My buddy owns the atv/motorcycle shop where I took the LT80 to get looked over, he said he's been busier than ever and could have sold at least a couple hundred mini bike/4 wheelers in the last couple months.
