Hey guys,

I just bought a used bbk 65mm throttle body from someone on this forum. It came off of his 2010 GT500 and he said the electronics part of it functioned perfectly. Would I be able to go ahead and just bolt it onto my 2011 without messing with the electronics part of it?

Thanks!

BBK Twin 65mm I am assuming, yes? If so, I will venture an educated guess and say yes. I added my twin 65mm FRPP unit to my 2009 and the car ran rough for a few minutes while it learned the new throttle body, then ran very well afterwards with no tuning. I have since made several upgrades and had the car specifically tuned for it with the other mods, but I ran it for several months and it was fine.

Yes you can just plug and play. Unhook the negative battery cable. Switch the throttle bodies. Reconnect the battery. Start the car. Let it come to temp while the relearn procedure does it’s thing. Take it for a casual drive first. Before you smash on it.

Any larger diameter throttle body should run modified DBW settings, but adaptive controls can compensate for most of the larger dual throttle bodies and perform reasonably well. So well in fact, that many tuners don't usually incorporate any of those type changes.
