I gotta get two holsters this week. One the hellcat and one for the sig 320.

I have a we the people own for my g43 which I really like, I may get one of those for the hellcat...looking at alien for the sig320

I have an Alien Gear IWB for my G23. It works well and is comfortable. I’ve even done the free shell replacement (originally bought it for my G43) and it was just as easy as advertised.

I also have a TucTite holster for when I want to carry appendix. I love it.

I ordered the alien gear iwb for mine a week and a half ago, said not to expect delivery until July

Posts and likes are not mine.

you prefer IWB? i cant picture how it would be comfortable to have something like that stuffed IWB. I dont plan to carry a lot (at least not now), so i was considering an OWB holster. Still window shopping. ill check out the two brands you mentioned.

Just picked up 180 rounds of Mk318 Mod 1 5.56. New barrel is a 16" 1:7 and it seems that my stockpile of m855 likes a slower twist from a 20" barrel.

These Mod 1's were the Marines upgrade answer to the M855 before Congress forced them to homogenize their ammo to the Army's new M855A1 variant. Legit rounds, lead free. Front half of the bullet fragments when it hits flashy meatsacks, while the solid copper back end drives the energy through. Optimised for 14.5-16" barrels with 1:7 twist. Perfect!!

The Army developed M855A1 looks like a hell of a round as well. So far, it's only available to the Military and LE. Once the military ammo caches are stocked with M855A1, we should see them available for surplus civilian purchase. Probably much better supply and lower cost than mk318 since it "won" when its released to surplus.

Snagged some Strykr conceal carry shorts for summertime. The integrated holster attaches to the leg to make it not flop around or print. The top of the pocket is kept in place with Velcro for quick release.

interesting, let us know how that works out. I have a hard time seeing that work well with anything not super light weight but a little snub 38 or something might work

I’ve never lived in a state with open carry. So IWB is my only option.

What pistol are you going to use with it?

Everything in the pistol arsenal. Full size to compact. Mostly a Glock 19.

For all intents and purposes it is a thigh rig hanging off the belt and attached to the thigh under the shorts. Thigh rigs can handle anything you throw at them.

It didnt register that a strap goes around your thigh. I was just thinking about it holding the gun still within the pocket but I could just see the pant leg flopping around with the weight of a gun in the pocket.

I like a 12 ga pump with a long magazine tube loaded with alternating 00 buck and slugs. Of course you will have some cleaning up to do.

I’m picking up a 12 gauge from a friend for home protection. Will this be OK for just home defense?

Yes, just be mindful using slugs because they have a lot of penetrating power. Having said that, I would still load slugs!

12ga 00 Buckshot from Federal is good stuff. Depending on what model shotgun, a side saddle shell carrier is a good place to keep some slugs and extra buckshot.

Some like the idea of using birdshot instead of buckshot in the home, but a good 18 or 20" barrel doesn't have a lot of spread at close ranges even without chokes

I’ve never lived in a state with open carry. So IWB is my only option.

Depends on what I'm carrying

For example I carry my g43 and XDm iwb, my 229 owb and i will carry my 320 and hellcat iwb

I prefer IWB most of the time because it's easier to hide and honestly with the right holster I barely notice it...problem is having to by pants on bigger side lol

I'm in that boat today. Gotta hit up Cabelas for some even bigger chunky monkey Cargos. My Glock holster and clip setup came in. Just waiting for the Kore gun belt to show up.

Instead of going birdshot, I've seen a lot about #4 buckshot being a good home defense alternative to 00 buck, cuts down on over-penetration through drywall but still delivers loads of stopping power.

Good video on shotguns for home defense in general, and ammo choice:

Consider reduced/low recoil 00 buck.
