**** that noise, 1500 a month in vehicle payments....

Retired from first career and currently on my second. Both those combined equals a good source of income so the $1500 doesn't have much impact on finances. Wife works on top of that as well. Plus life is short, and you can't take it with you.

Traded my POS 18' F150 in and had to absorb some of the neg equity. Got the wife a 2019 Civic Sport loaded out. Threw Ext maintenance and warranty on it so she's turn key. I don't have to think about the car for the next 8 years. About 450 a month.

Arguably the best move I made despite rolling neg equity. It's the perfect baby car and she's taken care of. Worth all the money in the world to me.

In 2013 my dumbass didn’t know any better and I paid $1,200 a month on very low mileage 2011 c6 z06. Granted I still lived at home and had no other major financial responsibilities.

Good thing I figured out the previous owner had shorted something out and caused a bunch of electrical gremlins. Dealership took it back and I went and got something else.

2019 Mercedes GLC $0.00
2010 F150 screw. $0.00
2001 Mustang. $0.00
1970 Bronco. $0.00

Car payments suck almost as much as ADM, haven’t paid either in years

Yea, that’s brutal. What the hell kind of idiot pays that much for cars.

Also, before the Shelby was paid off I paid 800 on it and 700 on the Truck...
It was nice having a 400 dollar a month mortgage in the old house.

Hell, if I had a 400 mortgage I'd have no problem having 2 or 3k in car payments lol. My mortgage with insurance and property tax rolled in is almost $4500. I try to save another $3k on top of that towards retirement.

Why the hate on payments, regardless of circumstance? Seriously. You're borrowing at < 2% and investing your principal. If you can get a loan rate super low you're leveraging both sides of your balance sheet. Why invest all your principal in a depreciating asset instead of borrowing at (or less) than the cost of inflation and investing the rest?

When I buy my next new vehicle I'll finance vs paying cash, I just havent been able to make myself bite the bullet on a new ride

I’ve bought 4 brand new cars over the past 8 years and I keep telling myself no more brand new after each one, lol. After this recent purchase of the 2019 Gt I probably won’t anymore. This car’ build quality interior wise is complete shit but the performance is amazing to me. Every time I get in the car it’s a love/hate relationship.

I’ll probably wind up scouring the forums in the feature for cars I’m interested in because at least the are for the most part, they should be taken care of.
